Hey All,
I just picked up a 99 M2. I want to perk up the power and make it sound better. I am looking at an HD Race system with ECM and the Force exhaust. Which is the better system for street riding? I live in a rural area and commute about 40 miles to work. Thanks! Frank.

Both are nice. Both are prone to breaking if not taken care of and installed properly. Both are loud, though the Force is a lot louder. The race system is stainless, but the Force is cooler looking...I'm not making this any easier, am I?! lol.

Go with a kooks system, best of both worlds

Hey guys,
No you didn't make it easier!!! Hahah. I can pick up a used hd race system and ECM for a pretty good deal (390 shipped) and found a good deal on a brand new Force pipe (530 shipped). I just ride on rural roads and commute for fun.. Not sure which exhaust is the best way to go. Any tips on making sure I install the exhaust correctly? Thanks again, Frank.

For your money the best performance mod you can do is the SE cams.
About $250 or so and a set of gaskets.
You pick up about 10 HP or so.
A rejet an your set.

I just installed a Force pipe that I had just got in a trade with another member here...I had I was cracked, I welded it up, had ceramic coated, and custom made my own mounts for the pipe (very well isolated from vibration). This thing looks and sounds AWESOME! My neighbors, both harley guys said that my bike was the most bitching sounding bike they ever heard. Yes it is loud...it should likes a big block with open headers. As for performance, I cant say yet. I have yet to take it out...I've got a few more things to tidy up before it goes on the road.
I'm not concerned with the breakage factor, I am pretty handy and if it breaks...then I'll fix it. simple as that.

My vote for the Force!

For the prices listed, my vote is for the race system. If you decide that you want the huge sound of the force, you can always sell the muffler and have a muffler shop build you a stainless megaphone slipon for the race header, and you end up with a custom, stainless exhaust that will last better than the Force because it's a 2-piece. Selling the race muffler and the cost of having a megaphone built to fit in its place should square about even if you choose the right shop.

Personally I don't care for LOUD pipes, but the Force is also supposed to make good power.

The Buell Race system was designed for their bikes and has an internal disk muffler so is also tunable, make it loud if you want but for the price, get that with the ignition module and you'll be ahead. Plus if you are talking about a complete race system it comes with the race intake too, that would be a screaming deal and you really shouldn't pass it up.

Hey guys,
Thanks so much for the advice!! I purchased the Force. It is soooooo cool looking.. BUT.. I think it will be too loud in the long run, after the "wow does that sound mean!" novelty wears off. I am returning the Force and buying the Buell race system. It is the header, muffler and ECM. No intake. It is also the muffler with an end cap and no disks. This site is awesome!! Frank.
