I have been wanting to try it for a while, but always thought that since I learned to shift one way, it would be too difficult to start doing everything backwards.. WRONG I swapped my banke for this shifter over the weekend only because this one can be mounted to allow either type of shift pattern. I couldn't be happier. 1 up 4 down feels a lot more natural, and seems like there is so much less effort put into accelerating. If you've been considering trying this I definitely recommend it!

I run GP for two reasons. 1: No more false neutrals because you are now able to provide a more positive upshift. 2: Thief will take off in 2nd gear, and then downshift into 1st when looking for 2nd. Id rather my bike burn to the ground than be successfully stolen. Been running GP since 2002 thanks to American Sport Bike |

I did it because it seemed to be a more positive set-up. I upgraded to linkage similar to yours, got mine from American Sport Bike. I have had no issues, but you must concentrate on riding, downshifting when you want to upshift is not fun! I have only done this when I was puttin' around "Harley style" and smelling the roses. You only need to do it once. |

Phil, let me know if you decide to part with your Banke set up... The linkage "upgrade" is next on my list... Thanks. |

I'll sell the banke shifter as soon as I figure out how the 2001+ shifter I have attaches through the chin fairing. Right now I'm still using some banke parts to mount it. Be warned that the banke I have is slightly bent and scuffed up from a minor tipover. I bought it used in that condition but it still works alright. |

I did just notice the little Banke adapter on your chin fairing... Just let me know how you make out. Thanks. |

i have the reverse shifter on my Ducati 1098. at the beginning it was frustrating because i had to think in which direction was the gear i wanted to put, a disaster! then i got used and thought i needed to put the reverse also on my XB and S1, otherwise another disaster! instead i must say, my brain switch the chip by itself and i never messed it up anymore! |
