Just got my new (old) '97 S1 and it has 11-year-old D204s on it. Think I might want to change 'em. Anyone experienced these modern tires on our "old" bikes?

Not the ones you mention, but I just put Michelin Pilot Road2's on my S2. So far, I love 'em! (about 300 miles in, still pretty much new) Nice tip-in, nice and neutral through turns and through the lean progression, left-right and right-left transitions are nice and solid. I've always run D208s on my tubers, but I like these a lot more already. Time will tell on lifespan.

I run qualifiers! Great tires! 5,500 miles on rear tire starting to show metal!

For sure the Qualifier is sticky, but for how many miles? 5K and the wire is showing? So, that means at 3-4k the tire was done?!(with safety in mind),not too good.

I would say most people with safety in mind would have probably changed it around 4,800 miles. But I tend to push the limits a bit!
