Anyone have a source for the F911 or L9 bolts and thick washers for the front motor mount? 7/16-14 x 2 3/4 zinc plated. Like all things these used to be readily available, and now, next to impossible to find. | ||

I was trying to locate a set recently for someone and was not having any luck, I have bought them in the past from Allan's, but they don't seem to show the proper length currently. I don't know if that guy located a set. | ||

That's the problem I was having. No one carried the 2 3/4 length bolt. every one that carried the F911 or L9 bolt all jumped from 2 1/2 to 3". plus, no one had them in the silver zinc finish, they were all zinc chromate (yellow) finish. | ||

I know these are the bolts particularly specified for the front engine mount, but is there anything special about them to the point that it wouldn't be recommended to get the 3" bolt and cut it down to 2-3/4? I have another front engine mount I planned to switch to eventually will need to get some new bolts. | ||

I just went through with this. I bought the billet aluminum mount from Twin motors in Netherlands. They sent over two shiny new bolts of the correct size. That having been said, I was also trying to find correct bolts. 3 inch long bolts with a little cut off of the end would result in a reduced threaded length for less strength and also the shoulder of the bolt would protrude from the mounting block. One caveat for those looking to buy one of those Netherland units: The bottom cross brace needs more relief for inserting the one large bolt up through the isolator. I ended up grinding the head of the bolt a little to make clearance. | ||

That's a good point, when I was picturing it in my head I was picturing a bolt with threads on the full length, which wouldn't be the case on a 3" long bolt. | ||

Found some NOS Buell part number bolts still in bags with Buell labels. | ||
