I know that this may be a silly question but I have a set of tire valve stem covers. One is seized and I can't remove it. Tried to spray PB Blaster into the bottom of the cap and let is sit but I am not sure if I am getting anything in there. I guess the worst case is that I will have to take the bike somewhere and have a new stem or tire installed. Just curious if there was something else I could do.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

assuming this is a rubber stem, grab it with a stem tool, or vice grips, and rip it out with a strong jerk to the side.

Then use a vice or similar tool CAREFULLY break the bead on the tire and put a new stem in. The tire doesn't need to be completely removed, just the bead broken enough to get your finger or something else to get the stem poping out.

Careful use of a Dremel and cutoff wheel should turn the O shape of the cover into a C...or a pair of <> and allow removal. Cut most of the way through and use a screwdriver to pry the halves open.

....and when you get a new set of tires, spring for the stainless valves instead of the rubber ones. IIRC they were stock on the Buells anyhoo... : )
