how critical is the placement of the air temp sensor for my 2000 x1, can i self contain it right under the tank in its own filter element, or does it have to be in the intake filter element. problem is i bought a forcewinder with no provision for the sensor, i may be able to cut a hole in the back of it, but the filter looks like there is no room for it. also would putting it in the coolest place possible help performance? |

Your best bet, is, on the back of the air filter element, ream out a small hole, and push the sensor in there... You really do want it in the intake stream... Chase |

I've also seen people stick the end of it in one of the grooves in the K&N element with the rain booty thing holding it in. My own cheat: I rerouted the breathers to the street and I used a filter for an M2 that has only one hole in the back for the breather. breather hole becomes temp sensor hole |
