Author Message   Chasespeed Posted on Friday, March 16, 2007 - 10:57 am:        OKay, so, here is the scoop... New 1250 kit, with cometic gaskets... Only gaskets not replaced, were the rocker box(did replace one of them)... Anyway, the biek is gonna be coming semi apart to replace the damn cam cover gasket.. ANWYAY... When the bike is running, it SOUNDS like there is air escaping from teh front cylinder... But, it sounds like its coming from the head... NO loss in power, and its not in the area of the head gasket... The spark plug is seated good, but, will double check when I get home... Anyway, those that actually had the rocker gaskets fail, was there a noise??? The only thing I can think of, is the metal gasket between the head, and lower rockerbox.. It seems to be running great otherwise, though, there is a VERY SLIGHT smell of fumes, though, that could have been my imagination... Any thoughts? I have had plenty of header leaks there, and it doesnt sound the same, this is kind of a swishing sound, the header leaks is usually a clicking...though...ah hell, I will double check it when I get home... NOW, I am actually sorta inclined towards the breathers myself... I was actually thinking about that over lunch... problem is, I dont really tear that far into the motor if I dont have to.. Took the bike to lunch today, and back( I have to go pick my daughter up from daycare now), and it friggin runs incredibly... The bike should be cool when I get home, and I will play with a few things. I DID change the breather hose routing when I put the bike back together... I didnt hear that sound before yesterday, BUT, that doenst mean it wasnt there... Thanks for the inputs... Any more ideas, keep'em coming, i will let ya'll know what I find..if I find anything.... One of the allen bolts that holds the top rocker box on, is gone/broken, causing the pressure in the crankcase to squeeze out through the hole... thus cuasing my swooshing sound... NOW to see if its broken, or just gone... Chase
