Will a 96 S1 Lightning tank fit my 2000 M2?
Tried the KV, didn't find anything definitive.

a 99 M2 tank will fit on a 97 M2 (see my profile pic)... so the reverse should also be true... and i believe the 99 and 00 tanks are the same.

therefore, if a 96 S1 tank will fit on a 97 M2, and a 99 M2 tank will also fit on a 97 M2, then a 96 S1 tank will fit on a 99 M2.

so, one may presume a 96 S1 tank will fit an 00 M2!

whew.

Panic,

Yes it will fit, only problem is that the stock 00 seat leaves a HUGE gap but will fit no prob...

You will have to put a 97 or 98 tail section an seat to make it all kosher.

On the same note, what year did the M2's go to FI....or did they? I see a lot of M2 tanks on eBay for some reason and I'd like to get another tank for my S3. I keep running across carb tanks, which makes me think they didn't switch in '99 like the S3's and may not have switched at all.
Restated -- What tanks will fit a '99 S3?

Easy rider the only tanks you can use are 99-02 S3 tanks.M2's were never fuel injected.

Thanks, guys! That helps me narrow my search and stops the ebay questions.
