Torqd;fantastic bikes you +your friend have.Twice you mentioned cutting off the triangles(rear footpegs mounts).I want to do that but i'm wondering,you must be leaving the lug(cast gusset) like thing on each side,+ cutting just behind the gusset,is the gusset on the sidestand side strong enough to not break,if it doesnt have the extra strength from that welded tube triangle.Thought id get your opinion before i run out and start sawing things up.Thanks.

Ours look just like Rick a's...We just took a die grinder and 3-4 in cutting wheel and made sparks fly. We did pick up factory touch up paint though. Go for it!

Thanks for the kind words:-}

Looks like knee sliders could be added to the elbows.

Torqd, what are you using for a rub block on the chain?

jb welded primary shoe:-}

It works...

Looking at other options for mine...maybe some teflon with countersunk screws into the swingarmblock.

oh...and a 25 tooth front sprocket to clear the 99+ swingarm...there are also a few 26 tooth sprockets out there...they are hard to find.

25 & 26 tooth front sprockets are readily available from Drag Specialties ... what's hard is to find them in 520 (they come in 530). BHR narrowed'em for me (thanks Ralph).

Our campsite at the corkscrew. We had 3 sites together - Jerry Johnson with his 37' "love shack" overhanging the 20' spot, Tat & his trailer & a space for us tent campers. Ebear thoughtfully rigged the loading ramp into the best viewing spot at the corkscrew. Believe it or not but Tripp Nobles & his mechanic Bear visited us Saturday afternoon (no doubt to talk with Melanie). He & Bear are gentlemanly & great company - their tales about Don were fuunny!

And Ralph ain't likely to do that for anybody else you're welcome again. I'm still looking for a better way. A friend of mine has much better tooling that will hopefully ease the procedure.

The primary chain tensioner is an excellent choice for a rub block. Go figure, it's designed to withstand a chain all over it. I did find some stuff that stands up "okay". I ya want, I'll look up what it is and post it. Teflon, nylon, stuff like that, won't stand up for diddly.

I used 3M two sided tape with a primary shoe. Has not come off riding in rain, car washes, oil leakes. so far 2k. mi. and holding strong. I worry about it coming off and wedging in the sprocket. It gets checked every ride. Still looking for a perm fix.Text description

Skully, you can get an angle head attatchment for a drill and put a couple holes in the swingarm block. Tap 'em and you have a good mechanical fastening. I didn't use anything "big", just 8-32. Don't forget to give the matching holes in the rub block a good countersink so the chain never hits the screw head. I did mine off the bike after cutting some clearance, so it wasn't hard to get at everything.

You can always tell a Texan motorcyclist. The can of dip goes in the front pocket instead of the rear. Nice pics RT.

That one of you though, you look kinda... well... stopped up. :]

Jd,

Ear plugs. Use 'em or lose. Ringing means damage, too may times and it's gone.

Nice bike.
