Anyone have any recommendations for shipping an SX with loaded hard bags from NY to Las Vegas? Plan is to load the bike in NY then fly out to retrieve it and meander back over 2-3 weeks. This will take place in late April or early May. Sending my co-workers FJR out as well.

Dunno about shipping, but we spent a week out there back in October, no bikey, right after the shooting. LOTS of fun, but exhausting! Had the last 2 days in Laughlin NV, right at the river/border with AZ. Spent a day out and back to Oatman AZ, with a KILLER BBQ spot in between, run by a biker. I'll see if I can remember the BBQ joint.

Vegas was over the top, but Laughlin was more laid back- Oatman was a tourist town, complete with wild burros, lots of fun. I'd LOVED to do what you're planning. Be careful, I came back dead broke after trying SO hard not to.

If you're anywhere near a Forward Air terminal, it's a pretty good way to go.

Forward air looks pretty good especially since I am within 45 minutes of two terminals. Not too thrilled with the 1100 shipping quote or having to purge the tank.

This looks promising

Looks like I can save another 100 by moving from Las Vegas to San Diego but not sure how well I would deal with the city and traffic. Id like to get the bike and get out of civilization as quickly as possible.

When I bought my Firebolt, it was in WA. There's several on-line 'brokers' (my term) that will shop the bike and route for you and you get sent the quotes.
I ended up with Haulbikes.com. Maybe they were cheaper because they're out of Milwaukee and were basically heading back to the barn.
I will say their service was great. Tailgate to the driveway. No fuss no muss.

+1 on Haulbikes. Used them to ship a bike from ID to NC. Very professional, nice rig too.

I just signed a contract with haulbikes.com. I've used forwardair twice in the past, but this time the shipper is too far from one of their terminals. Haulbikes and forwardair were about the same price when I used them. Forwardair rolls the bike into a steel crate with doors on each end and locks it (with your lock), so you may have to remove the mirrors for clearance. They will also put accessories in the crate with the bike, helmets, jackets, etc. Haulbikes will not ship anything that's not part of the bike.
