I recently got an 05 Buell Blast with only 5k miles on it, I took it to a mechanic for a tune-up, Changed oil and filter, adjusted push rods, and checked and tightened engine mounts. Bike runs a lot smoother, but a lot slower too, I find myself giving it wide open throttle just to keep up with traffic, any ideas?

Sounds like the primary was adjusted a tad to tight. That will kill top end speed.

Someone told me it might be acting crazy after the tune up because is still in the break in period, what do you think about that? Plus, I just rode it around for a bit trying to push it as much as I could, and it started picking up better...

That could be. I think each year has it's own demons that need to be let out. I've got an 01 and it took just about 5000 miles to flush all the problems out. I've got close to 12,000 on it now and it runs great. I commute on it am riding it every day as I am "cage free". No autos in this house. Just bikes!

If you have further issues, go to the Thumper forum where EZ, Gearheaderico, Swampy and others including myself will be more than willing to help. I call mine "piglet" cause it's half a howg. lol
