Stock is the 170/70/17, what if any would be the concern/ issues with going with a 170/60 or 65.

just realized that...I put 170, not 120 so thats what i am asking, will it make a difference???

Ok, as long as you aren't ordering a 170 you should be fine. Just wanted to make sure before you made an expensive mistake. : )

The second set of numbers (70 or 60) tells you how tall the tire sidewall is in percentage of the first number, the width.

On the stock 120/70, the sidewall height is 84MM. If you go to 120/60 your new sidewall height will be 72MM.

What will this do? It will affect your handling. You will be lowering the front of the bike, changing the steering geometry. I'm not an engineer so I won't speculate what it will do, and whether it will be good, bad, or not noticeable.

It will fit, as it is a smaller tire, so you don't need to worry about clearance with fenders and such.

Will a 130/80 17 fit up front OK on an XB12S? Have high fender in place..
