I just took my 99 S3 in for a new set of tires, and technician at The Wheel Shop (Phoenix) said that the rear brakes were worn down to the metal. Funny thing is, the guy said the same thing the last time I got a rear tire and I had them replaced then also. Do the S3 brakes wear out in 8K miles? What gives? |

prolly draggin' pads on disc. get the rear wheel off of the ground and spin it to check it out. maybe non-retracting pistons in caliper, or master cylinder problem (2nd choice) |

I never got 8k out of a set of rear pads, seems about right to me. |
