My 2007 XB12R has been in storage all winter, and I recently decided that it's time to get back on the road. I had the battery out while it was sitting, but about 2 weeks ago I connected everything and let the bike run for about 15 minutes. Just a few days ago, I went to start the bike again, and nothing happened. Here are the symptoms:

1) With the key in the off position, I insert a 15 amp fuse into the key switch fuse. The instant I put it in, the gauges run through the familiar "all the way up and then back down" exercise.

2) When I turn the key to any "on" position, the key switch fuse blows. Every single time.

Has anyone had this problem before? Can anyone help? I had previously connected the battery in reverse, causing the fan to run upon making the connection. Please tell me I didnt cause any permanent damage!
