Hi all, I'm swapping Uly bars onto my STT and when I rotate the bars to where I want them I don't like where the controls are. If I cut off the locating pins inside the switch housings will I have trouble with them moving around? I believe this is the first bike I've had with the pins on the inside.

On a related topic I would like to move the mirrors out some. Is there a cheap way to do this? Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

You can file down the pins a little bit, that way you can rotate them as needed but it will still have grip and not rotate when you press buttons.

As for mirrors, I am not aware of any way to move them out. I have the Aprilia Tuono mirrors on mine, they have a wider view and sit more outside towards the bar end so you get a better view. Also, they vibrate much less. : )

Thanks Froggy! About how much farther out do you think the Aprilia mirrors go? I think I saw a pic comparing them somewhere but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks again, Murf2

The edge of them extends a bit further past the end of the bar than the stocker. Oh, and they can take a nice bearing when you take a tumble.

Thanks for the pics. That will really help me compare.

I bought a used left hand switch assembly from a fellow BadWebber. Whether he knew it or not it had the pin broken off inside. I do have trouble keeping it in place. I dont use the horn too often but when I do I end up needing to reposition the assembly every time. Small annoyance but it is an annoyance. I suggest relocating the small hole drilled into the handlebar so that your switch is secured.

a small piece of bicycle innertube between switch halves and bars will eliminate creeping

I also have Aprila's and so +1 on Frogy's comments. I do miss the stock look, made the front of my bike look like a mousekateer hat.
