I have an 04 12R with a Drummer Exhaust (Which was installed by the owner before me) and my Exhaust valve actuator is still under the airbox cover, i didn't follow the cable to see whats up or look into it any further, but can i remove all that stuff, i want to do the Open filter element mod, but i have a black box with a cable running to it and no where to put it if i do

Pull the cable out through the bike. This cable runs from the servo to the muffler. I don't know why the previous owner did not remove this cable completely. If you are going to buy an open air box kit you will need a servo emulator http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/9313.html when you remove the servo so the ECM still believes there is a servo still attached. Have at her!
