Does ANYONE know if the ECM on an 08 can support exhaust mods? I dont want to lean the bike out by letting it flow too much!
Thanks all

Mesa,
try reading up on the threads over in the exhaust or performance mods section. As far as I've been able to determine, the verdict hasn't come in about the 08 ECM yet. Everyone knows it's different than the 07-earlier though.
If you find out, let me know, I got an 08 city x and a lead on a cheap drummer...

Well, I just put one of my Rebel Racing pipes on a local 08 12R, Seemed to work GREAT! it didn't suffer a lean out like my 05 did. The guy was VERY Happy wit it and it sounded like music playing as he drove away!

There is a reference on the ECMSpy site about the tuning guide which refers to another software creator.
He has a program called Megalogger which enables you to use the datalogged info from the laptop/pda connected to your bike when you go for a log ride and analyses the out puts.

You then have the option to apply the suggested optimum changes to the fuel map and overwrite to the ECM.

Almost like a dyno in your tank bag.

If you change your exhaust on the 08 model maybe if ridden carefully you could apply this tool incrementally to resolve any rich/lean issues.

It's worth mentioning, that only the current release for the palm and the upcoming new release for PC will fully support VE analysis with the MegaLogViewer in their log files. The current PC version requires some manual changes in the logfile, so I would not recommend using it. You still have to create the .msq files with the PC version. Writing .msq files will not be implemented in the palm version before Q3/08.

We also added to the web site an online conversion tool for the palm based binary log files, which offers a bit more options recognizing false readings via the serial port (due to noise at the data lines). This to will go into the palm version, but not before the date given above.

Regards,
Gunter
