A couple of times now, my trip meter has reset itsself and my clock has shut off. The clock doesn't matter, I wear a watch, but the trip meter caused me to run out of gas at the end of the street (thank god, it was 33 degrees out) and I was able to coast into the driveway. What is causing this? I hook it up to a battery tender every night too. | ||

My XB-S does something similar to this when I route the ECM bundle wrong under my seat and it gets a nick from the battery terminal, or when one of my battery terminals were loose or dirty. | ||

You might consider reserving the battery tender for more prolonged periods of non-use. Sounds like that could be the culprit, possibly sending a problematic electrical signal that clears the meter? Just guessing. | ||

I've had the same problem w/my '03 XB9r. A new battery did the trick. -Geof | ||

You know, I have been thinking my battery was weak because it seems to struggle to get that first rotation of the crank really noticabley. | ||

Turns out it was the battery. Its working fine now with a new battery. | ||

Mine had delayed starting and trip meter/clock re-set, got a new battery and waa laa it works fine now !! Rode it to Iowa and back this weekend, started up every time, no re-set !! CJ  |
