Do you have any more details on the "sputtering"? Was it during accleleration and at idle? Did you notice or smell any un-burned gas from the exhaust? If the bike is brand new and under warranty the dealership can plug it in and get a good diagnostic going for free (most of the time) but any details you can give will be beneficial. Hang in there and keep the shiny side up!}}

well, say i am at a stoplight, it idles really rough while i am sitting there, and when the light turns green and as soon as i hit the gas, it nearly stalls and i have to keep blipping the throttle to get it going, and then after i start moving and accelerating, it sputters really bad, all the way up till about mid range RPM's (from about 4-5k its fine if i hold it there, but if i try to accelerate more it will sputter again) it does this through all of the gears.

Take it back to the dealer. It sounds like it may need the TPS reset.

Probably a simple fix, I would be looking at TPS reset or fouled plugs, but other stuff could cause it.

Did you put on any race parts? Check the wiring bundle that goes to the ECM under the seat. If it is routed wrong, it can get a microscopic cut from the battery terminal, and cause no end of oddness. Slap some electrical tape on there and route it right, I put some split loom armor on it as well.

It will absolutely be warranty.

New bike, most likely, fouled plugs. Easy fix for the dealer, a bitch for the rest of us.

My XB9SX has developed a problem, no compression in the front jug, makes a loud clanking when it's running.

Not good.

Had to wait a month before the dealer could look at it. It's going in tomorrow; I'll keep everyone posted on what they find. It still is (just) under
warranty.
