A friend I work with has an 02 sportster 1200 and he was changing the pipes when one of the exhaust studs broke off flush. he says theres a jig to drill out the broken stud. Does any one have one he could buy/ rent/ borrow to fix his bike? He will pick it up and bring it back in a couple days. P.M. me and let me know. Although they no longer sell Buells they've always treated me right. It's great to see them garner a little attention. And btw -- if you're not an AMA member, you really, really should be! Not only does it support the organization that helps protect our motorcycling privileges, but many people don't realize you get a fantastic road-side assistance program with it by simply signing up to auto-renew each year. Much cheaper (and better in my opinion) then AAA. I've even used it once myself and that was for my car, not my bike. Regretting that insurance decision with the warm weather we have been experiencing as of late. Any how I am looking forward to riding both the cyclone (after new Mikuni 42-11 install) and XR250R on or after May 1st. I am in the Columbus area and looking forward to meeting the group during upcoming rides and / or events. I had a cyclone for a while; good do-anything road bike. Is your XR250R street legal? I do a lot of dual-sport riding around Laurelville and Danville. Wolfridgerider...thanks for the heads up on Aug. 10-12. Is that the Buell Homecoming or another event? I am hoping it doesn’t fall on an OSU home game weekend (I hate to give up my tickets). Just picked up a Cortech sport saddlebag for the bike since the Buell saddlebags are hard to find these days. I will probably get the tail bag as well. MikeF5000…loving the Cyclone so far. Although I have only put 400 plus miles on her last year….I am lovin the torque the bike puts out and her sweet spot seem to be around 3,000 RPM. As for the ’04 XR250R it is titled as “off road” at this point. Honda for some reason stopped making the street legal version of this bike some time ago. It does have a head and tail light and a meter but, not street legal. I have been looking into the “street kits” for it but I have not made the jump just yet. Since I do a lot of hunting down around Athens / Morgan County, I pass through Nelsonville and thought about playing in Wayne State National Forest. I use to hunt (finally got sick of dealing with the weekend warriors and moved to private land) and 4X4 down there as well some years back. This year I need to renew the off road tag and pick up a seasonal Wayne State tag as well. Always looking to ride on nice days! I moved to Chattanooga TN last December, been on my Uly nearly everyday since. So many great rides right from my front door, 2 hrs from Deals Gap, about an hr. from the Cherahola Skyway..SOOOO much riding here. I'll be taking a couple of weeks in July to go to Mid-Ohio Vintage days and SuperBike week. Hope to see you there.
