Neighborhood and WCR 3 - 1/2 was a little icy, but once I got to the highway(119) all was good. Odd, I didn't see any other riders... Was very relaxing/invigorating, I got my fix just in time. Unfortunately it had to be under the circumstance of bringing my baby to get fixed. And I'm sooooo glad there was a stator in stock. So Dan did some more checking and finally had to admit it was the stator that is shot. Of course, my only concern, as Jody is well aware of, is it burning up again. We've decided that if it does it again and if it's after the warranty, we'll just have it rewound. On a good note, at least it's getting worked on in the winter. Otherwise I'd be in tears LOL Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. Oh, and I've decided to go back to school to become a Holistic nutritionist. I'll be taking a class starting mid Feb that goes for 6 weeks then I'll hit the books for a 1 1/2 to 2 year program. This is all thanks to what I've learned since starting taking Juice Plus. I'm so excited. I want to get out of the business of pushing pills as a bandaid and help people get healthy thru a proper diet. Any prayers from you all would be super. Dennis (97s3tcolorado) stopped by to educate me on painting and to pick up some parts. He is another one that is hooked on Buells. Here's an idea for a name: "Buell Skinner's, Cycle Shop"   Jumpinjewels Posted on Saturday, January 29, 2011 - 06:59 pm:        Hi Jody, yup, I picked up my baby today and Dan and I had a nice ride down to Palmer Lake. The guys at HCHD did a great job. Only a one week turn around (actually it was done on Wed but we couldn't get up there until today). Had my heated vest and gloves going and the battery voltage stayed in the high 13's, low 14 volts. I'm so happy. Let's hope this is a permanent fix. And Zach, it is always a pleasure seeing you and we really do need to all get together for a ride or 2 this summer. Maybe Dan and I might do a Vegan get together at our house. Saw a recent posting that Erik Buell Racing is still working on a proper long-term fix. as of a few days ago. Shop will be closed tomorrow(01FEB11) due to the weather. I think I'll play indoors tomorrow, try to ready a couple of old Macs for sale. Hey - we could start calling Frank "Mule", gotta have a biker name if you run a shop.. Mule Skinner's Buell Shop, it's got a ring to it. The brand of Buells I build already have a name, "Skinner Built" which was coined by my Dad. So here it goes.. Hey, Im Dennis, I have been a long time rider and I started as a sport bike guy. I then got into metric cruisers. I always wanted a Buell but up until a few weeks ago it never worked out. I recently found that I was going to be a first time father and I went into panic mode! (Don't tell my Wife) I had a big new motorcycle with a BIG monthly payment and I could not convince my self to keep it with a baby on the way. I sold it and made a little money on it. After a month or so of nothing to play with,modify,upgrade or tinker with my wife found herself asking me "Do have any thing better to do than bug me?".... I said that I didn't have a motorcycle to play with! So the search was on! I was looking at a few bikes and I came across the 1997 S3T and I knew that I had to move on it! I went and looked at it rode it and I could not stop smiling!! I was in love all over again. I had to get it! I paid the man and put it on the trailer. Thats how it happened! I am now a Proud Buell owner and it will stay like that for a long time! Thank you Frank for the time you spent with me on saturday! It was great to meet you and talk Buell with you! Thanks for the parts as well, They will come in handy for the restoration/mods I will do the S3T! I cant wait to get the bike done! and for the Snow to go away! I would like to meet you all and do a bunch of riding! Thanks for a great season!   Zac4mac Posted on Sunday, February 13, 2011 - 10:54 am:        Got the Uly out to ride to work yesterday, couple of icy spots in the neighborhood and at work. Roads in between were clean and dry. 40 degrees here at 8 am, wind gusting to 40 will melt and dry this junk quick. We got ~5 inches of heavy snow last storm. I shoveled out the driveway and 5-6 feet from the curb in front of the house. more free water for the grass and trees. The piles on the trees are still there, but the lawn is mostly clear after yesterday and last night. Got the itch for a longer ride than to work or town... I'll ride Loretta today and take the long way home. <edit> almost 60 at 9am !!!!!!! Then I headed for the hills, stopped and said Hi! to the guys at Red Hill then took 36 up to Estes. No sand to speak of, but water across the road in a few turns, taking 34 down to Loveland. Smooth trip, the Big Thompson is all frozen on top, looks very cool in places. Gonna try to get Lawana on the bike tomorrow, may just take 7 thru Allenspark then over to Estes and home. I have a bunch of old ones too, a "Luggable" and a Kangaroo are the notables... Can't support my habit like I used to, Harley shop doesn't pay that well, but I have a new iPhone4 to go with my old G5 and 15" C2D MacBook Pro. Buells are my latest passion tho, all my extra dough goes to Loretta and Bluenose(well some makes it to my wife...).
