GRRR...well, it's official. There are NO dealerships in UT that will do any warranty work. If I am to get that new harness and reflash, I have to go to Idaho. : (

Although, South Valley was very nice to me on the phone and they still do service work and can order non-warranty parts.

I don't know who is supporting Buell in Idaho, I stopped in at the Grand Teton shop in Idaho Falls, didn't ask if they service the bikes. I was there Easter weekend and was not impressed, they seemed pretty apathetic about Buell. The dealership in Boise, High Desert I think, seemed decent enough when I stopped in there a few months ago.

Bob, I tend to stick to the really close canyons down here, I really like Big Cottonwood because I can run it in the morning after work and still get home in time to get my daughter off to school on time. Plus it's got a nice rhythm coming back down if you get the pace right. East is another favorite of mine if I have a little more time.

There's some good riding further south, but I'll have to check a map to tell you which roads I enjoyed when I road down south last.

Kerri, thats a real bummer and why many Buell riders all over the country have bailed on Buell the last year and sold their bikes. There are some really great dealers around the country that are true Buell enthusiasts but none here. Thats a shame with the great riding we have for sport bikes. I have chosen to do my own service and if I really needed warranty work I believe I would trailer to High Country in Colorado. They appear to be the best dealer even close to us. Do a search on BadWeb; they are a sponsor and several of their people post here. I am e-mail friends with Zack Warzecha (Zac4mac), their parts man. They are probably 500 miles or so and good people.

Mike, I'm with you on your fondness for those canyon rides. My favorites also and close enough for a one day ride.

Short ride for me tomorrow. I'll be at the Sinclair in Mountain Green at 1:00 PM. Stay safe all. Bob

High Desert in Meridian, ID is where I'll be going this time. It's only 4 hours (much closer than High Country in CO-my second choice). The folks I talked with were very Buell friendly and the service dude knew exactly what I was talking about. I didn't have to explain myself twice like some of the other dealers I've dealt with. I'll give a full report when everything is done. They say the harness will be there in about a week.

For all the other work, yeah...I'll be doing that myself. Got the first service coming up here soon. Guess I'll have to pull the manual out. : )

Doing a run down to Timp HD today...guess they have something going on there today. I'll be on the VRod...can't leave it behind!

The folks up in Meridian seemed decent enough. my brother lives up there and says they sold off all their [Buell] t-shirts and stuff a while back. They were enthusiastic about selling me a bike, I didn't check in with service to see how they were as I thought SLHD was still going to work with us back then. Frustration with financing nixed that deal though.

Let us know how that goes please.

Your trip back from Bear Lake would have been frustrating, I hate being stuck behind slow traffic on curvy roads, another side benefit of working nights is there's so much less traffic if I can fit in a weekday ride. But I miss on a lot of the group rides others do.

Hope you guys have a good rides today, I'll be running errands on the XB bike later hopefully. It needs to be switched out to synth for easier cold morning starts.

Well, we started to go but about 5 miles or so down the road, I just had a bad feeling about the ride. Something didn't sit right with me, so I pulled into a gas station and sat there for a minute. The "bad omen" feeling didn't go away, so I just headed home. It's weird though...I've never had a bad feeling like this before, so I thought it wise to heed it. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I hope everyone is ok...

Better to stay home and wonder a bit than to go and find out why you should have stayed home (been there, finding out why you had that feeling because you ignored it can be a very unpleasant experience).

Hopefully you found some other nice things to do with your day.

Great short ride today, about 70 miles. Went through the paces with the 1125 and all I can say is: for you guys/gals with 1125R/CR, if you have the bucks get the Buell race ECM. Man, a what a difference in fueling, driveability in all ranges and pulls like a freight train to redline. Best money I ever spent except for the original purchase of the bike. Plug and play for $250.00 and averaged 42 mpg with several runs to redline and cruising at 60-70. Idles at 1250 rpm's now and pulls away from a stop with hardly any throttle. Coolant temps. down 10-15 degrees. Pump gas. Several versions available depending on muffler system and air cleaner. Gotta be extra careful even more now! Stay safe people, Bob

Bob, did you get that through the EBR website? My question is if I get one now, with the stock pipe, what do I do if I get a different exhaust system? Can I get it reflashed or do I need to send it back in to have EBR do it? What air filters are you guys running?

Kerri, I believe I would wait until you decide if you want another exhaust system but I think you could get it reflashed to a performance muffler later for a very small charge back to EBR as I did for my idle rpm. My system is not that much different from the great flowing stock system. I run a K&N and stock inner airbox on. Its probably best to ask Michael Richter at EBR here: "orders@ebracing.com" He has been my "go to guy" for accurate info. Do not believe all that is written on BadWeb. Many personal agendas out there.

See you next time gal we ride together. Stay safe until then. Bob

There have been no authorized Buell dealerships in UT since before the end of 2009. The nearest is Pocatello, but I'm not sure what the commitment level is there. I emailed them a request for parts order, but three weeks later, no response.

I spoke with Scott at State St. HD on Saturday. He confirmed that they can only do non-warranty work. Went in to dyno the 1125 and we had a good chat about the HD/Buell situation. Overall, the Timmons HD empire has been pretty good. South Valley particularly. The guys can still help you out, but cannot do any warranty or "factory authorized" service work.

Bob -

You didn't happen to run a base line dyno on your 1125 before switching ECU, did you? Getting ready to swap exhaust and ECU on mine, so was interested to compare base line numbers.

Jeff, no I did not run a dyno test either before or after my pipe and ECM installation. Because I'm not running my bike on the track and not looking for big H.P. numbers in a narrow area, like in the the higher rpm's for racing, I am completely satisfied with what I have for mostly street riding. It is awesome in all ranges and better then it has been in two years since new.

"If I had the money" and was going for a track bike only I don't think you could do any better then EBR's own full exhaust system and their corresponding race ECM. Maybe the tuneable one to be able to tune for each individual track or conditions. Pricey but its a proven system for a stock engine and won DSB championship in 2009 with Danny Eslick aboard. Also you would have EBR as close as a call or e-mail for support.

Just my opinion, of course, so lets all get together soon on a nice ride and have a great discussion and good ride. Bob

Bob, I can do a daytime ride Wed, Thurs, or Friday morning or afternoon, can't be out all day as the dog will be in his kennel while I'm out and my little girl is out of school 'round 3:30.

I'd love to go out for a few hours if anyone wants to meet up. Need to shake this XB down and put in a few miles on some curvy roads!

Bob - I have the EBR race exhaust and ECU in-hand so I'm already ahead of you there... Planned to install after dyno-ing bone stock, just to see what the improvement would be. Maybe I can get the can on this weekend... Yeah - let's get together (the XB will be running regardless of where I am on the 1125) - maybe weekend of the 23rd - track day at LHM that day, BTW.

He-he. I can be up north by 1300, weather permitting. Bob, you in?

Anyone else? I can't remember if Russ (Preybird1) is off Wed or Thurs, but we can invite him too.

I was just wondering if East Canyon will be doable by Friday. I've got some work related stuff to do up Parleys, pretty close to the turn off for East so I'll be most of the way there anyway.

Mike, sorry, but I didn't see your post until this morning but I probably would not have gone today anyways, just too cold for me. There will be time for us to get together on a nice ride somewhere. Would love to show you Trappers divide, Monte Christo to Bear lake and Logan canyon sometime. And we definitely have to do Wolf creek.

I do not think East canyon would be open, over the top, legally, until sometime until about mid-May. There is a closed gate across the canyon on this side just a mile up from EC resort. Too much run off early anyways. Hows the new XB doing?

Kerri, maybe Sunday, for sure, if the weather cooperates.

Brandon, you alive? LOL Stay safe all. Bob

Hey guys...I just learned that this place is opening a shop here in Ogden...AND they can get Buell parts!

http://www.trackstar1.com/vmart/

I think we should do an en force showing and let them know how much business they'd get if they got more stuff for Buells or at least gave us a good deal on them! Free food & music? I'm going, are you???

No long rides for me tomorrow. I forgot it's my daughters early day, out of school at 1:30.

Could come up Friday for their party. Have to work Friday night though so I can't be out late.

Thanks for the info on East Canyon Bob. The bike is nice, too nice actually, I'm a little bored commuting on it so I've got to try it on some canyon roads.

I've missed the evening news, maybe I can catch the snow totals for Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons on the weather tonight. I really need to put in some miles in the next couple days. I'm going to ride out to the Bingham copper mine for some pics for an old challenge on the New Riding Game thread, hopefully I can find some bendy roads along the way.

Mike, Jeff, Brandon & Kensick; you guys gonna try and make it there? How about Bob Kerri? There'll probably be a lot of USBA guys and gals. Its been on their website for a while now.

Maybe we can all meet up somewhere and go together. Lets hear your thoughts. Bob

I am planning to make the trip over, probably Saturday. Need some gloves.. I'm pretty close by and will have my boys, so will probably take the truck (supposed to be really nice this weekend, too - looks like I will spend most of it working on the 1125). Would rather be riding, but parental responsibilities prevail.....

Well, that was fun...a little chilly here and there, but not bad. No deer or LEOs. Went through the canyon, counterclockwise around Pineview, then back around to Trappers Loop, to Mtn Green, 84 to 89 then back home.

Have I said how much I love my bike yet today?
