- well cool : ) Glad to see ya finally got it JOhn. Hmmm ... let's see some pictures of the new ride?

I think I am riding to Poverty Point which is jus' a lil east of Monroe, LA. It's a indian site allegedly pre-dating even Cahokia Mounds.

I went to Vicksburg, MS a week or so back to visit the Civil War battlefields. Pretty cool and they even have the iron clad USS Cairo there that they recovered from the river mud around 1964. The same fella' that designed that series of iron clads engineered a bridge in St Louis. (Eades?)

Well guys, you could have blown me away with a straw when he drove up with the FJR...I had been doing more than a little campaigning on behalf of the FJR just because I know John so well...And the viffer does have that valve thing going against it as far as I am concerned...I was just soooo happy for him...This bike really rocks and is certain to be a mileage tool...It is just so much more bike than the Interceptor...We were standing looking at the FJR when John noted that he paid about the same for the FJR as he did for the Beast back when...That just doesn't seem right, does it?...Amazing the engineering and technology...

John...John Geisz has cut his windshield WAY down for summer riding and has an oversized one for winter...Josh, John knows this already so this is for your info...In our opinions the FJR is much hotter than the ST but Geisz says that the PCIII completely eliminated that issue for him so be prepared to spring for one as soon as you take delivery...Geisz also has a new R1 and he says that thing will cook dinner...About an hour is all he can stand...Not PC'd as of yet...I am looking into a PC for the ST now that they are available but the ST board is talking about stalling problems so that has to be looked into...The ST has almost 40k on it and it is going in next Monday for a major service...Valves and all replacables...Will let you know what the damage is...

I had lunch today with Dave Mungenast Jr as he is very interested in doing an IBA Saddlesore 1000 and Bun Burner...Then a Bun Burner Gold...He just finished reading Ron Ayers books and is hooked...We discussed some alternate routes and prep and he has ordered the Seng PIAA mounts and a pair of 910's...He already HAS an aux fuel tank!!!...Last Sunday Dave rode in from the Lake of the Ozarks for the shop ride, did the ride and then rode down to his farm near Farmington and back...Me thinks he likes to ride and I thought his dad and he and his brothers were mainly dirt riders...

Oh, and I am getting a bad case of wheel envy...All you guys with these nice blue scooters sure do have nice looking wheels...Not BLACK!...

See Ya!

Bob

Bob,
We have bunches of those banana peppers. Dee wanted to know if she could bring over some Chile Rellenos over to your house Sat evening. Maybe some of the other riders would like some too. We could make plenty for all. She would need to know by Sat am. so she could get it all ready when we were done riding. What do you think?

Dee Calhoun has graciously offered to make up a bunch of Chile
Rellenos and bring them over to our house for us to enjoy after the
ride tomorrow...So the Calhoun's and LaMear's would like to invite
everyone to a Mexican dinner at the LaMear's tomorrow, Saturday, at
about 5:00 p.m...We will provide everything except beer and the hard
stuff...For that it is BYOB...

For those that do not know how to get to the LaMear's...I-44 to the
109/W exit in Eureka...Left, south, onto W...Right, west, onto
FF...Left, south, onto John McKeever Rd...The address is 8767 John
McKeever Rd and it is the third house on your left...There are large
stone planters flanking the driveway...

Dee will need to know about how many are attending so please let us
know that here...

Thanks Dee!

Hmmn, Bob, I was the one that turned JC on to the FJR that was waiting for him. Anyway a certain "Mother" who shall renmain nameless, did some REAL convincing for me not to push JC towards another Buell ;+}.

Passion will find a good home and the new owner will appreciate what a fun ride she Really is!

So who wants a really fun ride that will be almost the most fun that you can have with your pants/ skirt on?????

When?
I have to work some Sat morning.

Got the RS back on the road last night. Really runs great. Went through some curves on Il-143 (the only ones in the area) but saw some road construction signs and so just coasted through the last corner.
Right past a cop.
I thought I was fine until he turned around and hit his lights. Seems the road was 35 there not 45. oops. Rookie cop (I think) kept repeating that I was "flying around that last corner" DOH! Good thing he didn't see the earlier ones. 47-in-a-35.

Got the RS and S1 in the garage. Would have had 3 running Buells again ... but Blast decided to go beltless on Sunday down by Scott AFB.

sheesh.

I spoke with Ferris last night to firm up making the connection with him in Arkansas later this week and have some news...He and JB2 have run into the typical moto trip glitches and are about two days behind schedule so here is the revised plan...They will not get back to JB's house until this coming Saturday evening...Ferris will ride to STL on Sunday and stay with me Sunday eve...The two of us will launch Monday morning for Eureka Springs AR...I have about a 500 mile day planned for Monday in order to show Ferris some of the best of MO and AR roads so we will not get to Iron Horse Stables until early evening Monday...Tuesday we will ride more of AR exiting the state late Tuesday evening via the Talimena Scenic Byway (AR 88 and OK 1) west of Mena AR...Then westward ho for both of us to Cali...We both need to be in SoCal by Thursday evening...Jerry and know that not being in AR over the weekend probably puts a big hurt on any plans you guys had made to hook up with him but it couldn't be helped...However, just on the slim chance that someone could join us in Eureka Springs Monday evening I told Jerry I would let you guys know...Also, anyone who wanted to ride all day with us on Monday is welcome to stay with us Sunday evening at my house...

Thanks,

Bob
