We just got home. Had a great time this weekend. It was a great ride yesterday and I am so impressed on how well the wife rode yesterday. It's always fun when the four of us get together. It was great to see everyone for breakfast. Thanks Uncle John! I am a bit under the weather today. My chest is swollen from where I hit the Bee and it stung me. Even with all that, the weather was beautiful and a it was a great ride home.

Ferris, so when are we going to start planning the Put On Notice Tour!?

Jerry, we thought about saying bye this morning, but thought yall might be working or sleeping in.

good call, Twig! i slept in to 9 this morning, something i never do, but something i badly needed. i did a head count this morning and several brain cells are still AWOL - as Carlos would say, we had a very large weekend.

glad we got to see you again and finally got to meet Pat. you know where we live and are both welcome any time. :-)

I'm glad you got to make it up to Shady Valley. I would pay money to see you, D, and the Road King running down 421. What did you think of it?

Nance, very cool to hang with you and Amanda Friday night, thanks for the great company! sorry we didn't get to hook up in Boone or Shady Valley yesterday - we tried everything we could think of to contact you, to no avail.

421 was simply awesome, the first time i've ever run it. we (Carlos and Kristi, me 'n D) took it pretty mellow all in all and ultimately ended up getting stuck behind a car, but that possibly saved us from some laundry of the LEO kind as we passed two Tennessee Chippies late in the game and were just crawling along at the time.

The Snake truly deserves something a tad sportier than an 800-pound Road King, and really needs some sort of NASCAR-type green-yellow-red lighting system along its length to let you know when it's ok to turn and burn!

Ferris, so when are we going to start planning the Put On Notice Tour!?

Carlos, don't you mean the "Put on Puerto Rican Notice Tour"? (say, will this tour include a stop in Chilhowie, Virginia by any chance???)

very much extremely enjoyed our time with you and Kristi yesterday, the riding part and the 'kicked back and relaxed' on the deck part here at the 'Dome. you guys sure gave our laugh muscles a workout!!

really sorry about having to demote you to sub-ignernt, but, well, following your lead and ending up in Wherethefugawie, Virginia yesterday afternoon warranted some severe punishment. one more slip up like that and you'll be banished to riding Pokemon bikes for the rest of your life!

Alex and Heather, i know you're not C3'ers (yet!), but speaking as honorary members we'd sure be delighted to have you both as part of the gang. thanks for your fine company this weekend. good luck and please keep us posted. :-)

this weekend was very large (insert "contented sigh" emoticon here).

Kristi,Carlos-It was good to see both of you Saturday night, although it was only a blink. Mother-n-laws don't take to wait'n in the car long. Tonya was my cue to go. Sorry you got the Buelltoberfest info so late in the game, I gotta pick my battles; )
I gotta make it up to a grass cutting party, that was some beautiful area!

I decided to change the transmission fluid in the Blast tonight. If you've never done it, that sounds simple. But it requires removing the left foot peg bracket to get access to the derby cover. Someone at Buell deserves a good killing for how difficult it is to get the foot peg bracket off. I've watched Mark do it before so I knew it was hard. I thought I could handle it, but I was wrong.

Not to be defeated, I embarked on a Blast Improvement Project.

A handy gasket I found in a drawer and couple T27 Torx drivers...

All the planets align...

Shazam!

Next problem is the kick stand is right where the oil drain pan needs to go.
A trip to Lows for a piece of rod... Lean the bike to the left to drain the
fluid...

Oh wow, I can even get to the clutch adjustment.

Lean the bike to the right to fill the primary.

Who's your Daddy!!

I have been refilling the primary through the vent tube.

I may take you up on one, I still have the adjustable idler pulley from the chain kit. If I slap a larger pully on their from a Chevy/Ford, I can probably take up the difference. Anyone know what the difference is in the two? I'll ask on the quick board also.

I was traveling from work to home all night making sure everything was okay. On the way home Wife lets me know that the power was out at home. Yesterday I pulled out the generator after being dormant for four years. I wish all my motorized equipment ran like that. It fired after a couple of pulls so I knew I was ready for a power outage. Seeinstars we here in the east have been around these tropical storms before and know how to prepare. I pulled the generator out of the barn this morning to a crackling and pop. Big branch came down and took out the fence. I got the generator to the house and got the power back on. We were only out of power for six hours, much better than the five days with Floyd. Hope everyone else in the east faired as well.

I did take German in high school Jim, but I couldn't claim to speak it. I do believe I can say "I am a ball point pen" -> "Ich ben ein kuli," but that isn't very useful. : )

I was surfing around on the german ebay site looking for Buell ads and came across that skull thing. Thought of 1313.
