Although they claim 145 hp, I don't feel the bike I rode had the same punch my 6 does coming out of the corners. Say what you'd like, post all the charts you care to. I'm just going by the seat of my pants, and it wasn't impressed with the top-end power. Perhaps these pre-production test mules are detuned? I have no way of knowing. But the torque across the powerband is amazing!

Dago, the problem with "seat of the pants" is this: humans are good at feeling changes in acceleration, not judging absolute acceleration. So a peaky powerband always feels faster than a flat one. You might talk to the guy at the Road America Inside Pass day who, riding one of those 1125s, drafted past a Ducati 1098 on the straight. I know I motored a 2007 CBR600RR who came out of the last corner onto the front straight just ahead of me at the Miller Inside Pass event, and with similar speed off the corner, as if he were going in reverse.

I'm sure you're right, anony. And perhaps I'll feel differently when I can ride one with GP shift, for an entire session or two, and without a road block in front of me.

Until then, it's the seat of the pants I'm wearing right now that writes the checks.

Again, it's a fantastic motorcycle. BMC should be (and already is, I know) very proud of this new creation. I thanked the staff there personally for letting me ride it, and congratulated them on a job well done. The track day, the new super bike, and the supporting crew were all second to none. It was by far the best track day I've ever had.

But thanks for trying to convince me that a story of "a guy who ________ while riding a ________ at _______ track" is more valid than the seat of my own pants.

Here's another meaningless anecdote you can add to your repertoire of Buell come-backs against cookie riders (thanks for the new term htr!) if when you're discussing the superior design of ZTL brakes with someone unwilling to admit there may be something better out there.

The coolest part of the day was watching Trip Noble stuff me on the inside going sideways into Little Bend on the 1125. At first, all I heard were tires chirping; thinking to myself, "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?" Then all I saw was a bright orange set of leathers walk past me to exit that corner at least 10 mph faster than I.

But something tells me he could have done the same thing on a Honda Rebel. So take it with a grain of salt.

Oh, another thing I really liked about the bike: I felt in it, not on it. I'm not sure of the difference in seat height between my cookie and the super bike. But mine sure seems to perch me up high comparatively, which is far less comfortable.

Never once did I feel those hugely powerful brakes were going to flip me over the bars, like I do at times on the 6, which has noticeably inferior brakes. But that's just the seat of my pants talking again.

i sure enjoyed meeting you guys up there! i too had a great time on the demo bike and to me it's real pretty, especially when my butt was on the seat. i got lucky and had Tripp as a lead rider on one demo and i don't remember getting passed by any r6's, but there was one 250 2 stroke that came around. that dude was flying. see y'all the next time. do y'all have a track club for cresson? jeremy, you can keep using my LSU chair and you are welcome for dinner.

What a great day! I can’t believe that it has already come and gone. It was really good to see old friends and make new ones. I got to spend the afternoon with a friend that I had not seen in 25 years!

I was really concerned after my first lap and I nearly crashed three times! Upon returning to the pits, I was relieved to find out that I was not alone. Cold tires and a cold racetrack make for a very scary experience.

I was originally disappointed that there was a control rider leading our first outing but after experiencing the cold, slick conditions, that rider kept me from ruining my day.

I have to agree: this is the best track day that I have attended. The way the track activities were managed, the price, the riders I had the privilege of spending the day with, the weather, the meal, the T-shirt and knee sliders, and the icing on the cake, the ride on the 1125R. My hat is off to Buell. Thank you.

Shred, thank you for letting me follow you for so many laps. Your instruction and pace were perfect!

Duc_htr, you are welcome. Thank you for letting us use your trailer!

To sum it up, Angela and I both had fantastic day and hope that we get to ride with all of you again.

It was good seeing you Duc' and Smoke. Ya'll both were really moving out there. Makes me proud that ya'll are 3%ers...LOL!!! Duc' your goody box is on shipping out tomorrow.

Thanks Skully, Glad you had a good time and thanks for letting the control riders do their thing.

I was taught to give a two lap warm up in the mornings til noon when its chilly and one lap after lunch. Lets the tires warm up and the track was really cold and slick. The polished areas "The sweet lines" were the slickest. Can't believe it was in the mid 40's and low 50's that morning. The track owner/designer was cool as can be. Him and his friends Norm and Jil invited a few of us to the their track pad which was a 3 double car garage/house close to T6/T7. We talked track stuff and they said that the track's compound gets slick when it gets in the low 60's and dangerously slick in the the low 50's. So we took their advise and rode smart. Even rode outside the sweet lines to get better grip until it warmed up a bit. "Jack gave us a few of is secrets" I know most of us did some sliding around. Think I might have Duc' sliding on the video once or twice and your on the video too. Haven't had time to watch the whole thing. I'll send ya'll copies when I can. I'm not good about take so make sure you ask about it. I'm starting to slow down a bit and I'll get it done soon.

We had a couple run offs but no wrecks. We always have a couple wrecks it seems like at most of the events. The whole group did great. I've seen some bad crashes at the some of theses events and I always hate seeing someone crash or get hurt but as they say "it happens" and I've seen a couple 1125R crashed and trashed. I tried to buy one of them and told Buell I'd buy as a salvaged title but they didn't seem to think it was funny. Thanks again, I'll pass on the good feedback to Buell and PTT.

Well' i finally remembered to post about last track day!
The best time ever had at a non race day!everything was fantastic, and the 1125r was the icing on the cake!
I was so prepared to not like it, but i can't find any faults,(except looks),it flat rocks, goes as well as any street bike i've ever ridden, and almost as fast as some of my old race bikes!
Really would like to ride one that has correct shift pattern, and want to chase that noble guy down again, was so much fun!

I was at MSR in the early afternoon looking for y'all - I saw Paul's bike parked, and a bunch of bikes on the track, but none of you guys. I was in my MX-5, lusting after the 1125r. Sorry I missed you!

I have decided to sell my 9R as well. I really REALLY love it, and don't really want to get rid of it, but I have seen 2 accidents since I have been back in Texas that just make me sick. I haven't ridden since the 1125 demo at MSRC. The bike has been garage kept it's entire life, it's a 2003 and it has the proformance kit on it. I may have pictures up later this week but I gave my 3%ers first dibs, and I figured you guys should have second. I really want to see it find a good home!

Also, I'm selling my trailer, some of you saw at the demos, 6X12 silver v-nose haulmark, with the Truckbed liner on the floor. Also has recessed chocks, D-rings, and ramp door. There is 60ft of E-Track installed also. I am asking 3500 for the trailer.

4500 for the bike, there is a second set of plastics I have, the motorcycle stands, and some additional tools that will go with it. Tail bag that held my camera and I think thats it...

Duchtr@gmail.com if you're interested.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday.

Jeremy, sorry to see you taking a bike break, but i know how circumstances are at times. drivers have less and less consideration and attention to the road every day and it seems like riders are on borrowed time. i hope everything is going well and you have a great Holiday Season!

Hello DFW Buellers!

It has been a long time since I checked in with you guys. It seems it has been a long time since you guys have checked in with Badweb Stormfronts.
I hope everyone is having a fantastic year so far.

I am bummed we all have not gotten together and ridden in so long. Bullysses has a pretty good bunch of guys within in the MCHooligans group to ride with, but for the life of me I havn't been able to get out for a ride with them, even though they have invited me out everytime.

Anyway, with the new riding season approaching, I am wondering if anyone would like to get the original group back together or merge it into the a group like the MCHooligans.
I would also like to start posting rides up on the sites again for those interested.

First really long ride of the season for me will be out to Georgia for March Badness V.
It is from 3/28-3/31. I will be truckin the bike out there on 3/27 and back home again on 3/31 if anyone would like to go. I have a trailer if we want to take more bikes and my truck seats 4 comfy or 5 if you like each other.

Outside of some of the long rides this year, I would like to put some short day rides together like we did back in the day. Maybe a track day or two together as a group. Of course I am totally open to suggestions as I am really just looking for some riding partners that enjoy being out on the road for a day on their bikes and with good company.

Have a great year and I look forward to seeing all this year!

I had a great Christmas Kevin. Nothing exactly Buell related, but lots of good times with family and friends.

Micah,
That is a very generous offer. It has me thinking. : )

All,
First CMRA big bike racing of 2008 is at Oak Hill Raceway on Sunday February 24th. Track school on Friday before. If you've never tried it, corner working is fun. I recommend turn 4 for best overall track vantage point.

If it's possible, does anyone have any objections to requesting the BWB to rename our storm front to Thunderbikes of North Texas and adding our logo to the site. Like the Carolina Corners Carver, Detroit Hooligans, ect.

I am all for it!

I am still partial to the TNT name and the people I got to meet that became friends.

I rode with the MCHooligans this last weekend and it was a great bunch of guys. So I know there are new riders out there joining the Buell ranks weekly.

I would love to introduce these new riders to the BWB and TNT family.

Paul let me know if I can help in any way.

I’ve talked with Peter of Mid-Cities Hooligans when I saw the club listed on the Buell website. Sounds like a nice guy. I would like to get TNT going but between the move and the baby I don’t have the time, at least not right now. What would be great is to get Peter hooked up with Brad so he can post events on http://www.thunderbikes.org/
I hate to suggest that he merges the Mid-Cities Hooligans with TNT, but since TNT already has some sort of infrastructure, 30 registered members and it’s an old BRAG chapter, it would be nice to keep it. Too bad Chris sold his bike, he was a good promoter.
Micah, next time you talk to Peter tell him to check out the BWB and the TNT website and ask if he’s willing to take over the helm.

Cowtown,
Seems like a reasonable request of Pete, last I talked to him, he mentioned he might be moving out of town around the time that Buell Homecoming was slated and I don't know the plans he may have with the MCHooligans website.

I will ping him and I will also talk to Blain as he seemed like he had a good network of riders he talked to regularly.

Maybe we can get them over to the TNT site.
