I've been riding bike for the 8 years, and I just picked up my lightning about 8 months ago. I love it, and all i can say is that it is just "BAD ASS".

I'm pretty new to the site and i'm trying to meet up with some guys from my area. I know its getting cold and riding time is getting scarce, but i would like to meet up and get to know some of the other guys off this board.

My best friend rides a xb9s CityX (GrianP on this site) and we never see any buells out when we are riding. So come on introduce yourselves.

I'm Carl, 27 and married. I live in Manchester,MD right out side of Hanover,PA and Westminster, MD. My friend is from Mount Airy, MD. we ride all over from Frederick, MD up to southern PA.

Hey!

Welcome to the BadWeb, and too CABO (Capital/Chesapeake Area Buell Owners) - see, bet you didn't know that by just owning a Buell and living in 'the area' that you automatically were a member!

Let's see.. We've got a few people up your way, Rasmonis is in the Frederick area. I'm in NoVa (near Dulles) - I'd love to meet up with you guys sometime, been trying to get some riding in while the weather is cooperating.

Cool front end on that Lightning, did you do all the work or get the bits from some of BadWebs great sponsors?

Next Saturday, I'll be at the IMS in DC (at least for a few hours) shout out if you're going to make it down there.

Lastly, what sort of riding do you like to do? We've got a smattering of it all here and I'm sure there are at least a few folks in the area that you could hook up with to tackle your favorite two wheeled action!..

Welcome to CABO/WABO team, hopefully we'll get some time on the roads soon. Twintour is up you way I think too.

I was just out today on the new 1125 they have at the Frederick dealership. I think I got to put it's first miles on it, heh heh...

Right now I'm in need of a few parts, but I get out when I can(did a short ride Sunday). Looks like I'll be riding on weekends only this year due to my work schedule.

PM me when you want to go out or just post here on the thread.

Sweet bike BTW, where'd you get that headlight assembly?

Carl I've never riden yet with CABO but just sort of realized that they was a DC section a while ago. Any my first name is Bear (it's proof that there were illegal drugs in 1957) and I live in northern VA just west of Leesburg.
I never see any other Buells either on the road (last one was in Gatlinburg) and I'm excited to go with the group. I have a 06 Uly, and my 1125R came in TODAY at Winchester HD&B. (Of course it nice out and I'm on the road in MN). I might be able to look at it on Wed. before I go back out of town.
Hope to meet someday soon. I'll be at the IMS on Sunday.

Yo Bear!

I'm not that far from Leesburg (near Dulles) .. We really need to get together! Let me know when you're back in the area and we'll try and do a thing or three about doing a couple of miles.. Heck, you'll need to get that new ride broken in ya know.. and who better to do it with then .. another 1125R?

It's gonna be a really good year.. even if we can only ride on the weekends..

Blublak, Yea I work out of Dulles Airport so I ride in on the Greenway some days when I don't have to haul suitcases and such. Yea, I'm sure we have our favorite roads around here. It will be a hoot exchanging them. I'm keeping the Uly for the time being as well.
How many miles do you have already? Mine just came in yesterday, and I've never even seen one yet. I'll be back late tonight and maybe see it tomorrow. Just got off the phone with insurance. ($409)
I'm planning on riding to the reunion next Summer.
Your my hero shooting motor sports. I'm thinking about doing that and Aircraft Sales Photography on the side.
I shot some over at Nelson's Ledges Ohio last summer and really had a great time! I've done a couple of informal weddings and a few car shows.
We are going to need trailers....

Ok.. Let's see, in order..

Coolness! Didn't realize you worked out of Dulles, one of these decades I'll have to come by and check out the flying stuff I'll bet BumbleBuell (Robin, my wife) would love it, she travels a lot for work and still can't get enough of planes and flying things.. Then, there's roads.. I know a bunch, between the two of us, we should be able to put together a bunch of fun. I'll show you 'The Circuit' a nice little ride that's actually not far from work (for both of us, but more on that some other time).

Uh, let's see.. due to weather and what not I'm not getting a chance to ride very much. I've got almost 300miles on (I think) and wish it was about 400 more then that!

Don't think I'll be riding to the 25th, since I think Robin and I will need the luggage room, we'll probably tow the Buells up there. But we could always travel similar times, RatBuell was talking about riding up as well (with his wife driving chase truck). Hmmmm.. There might be a plan here somewhere..

Hmmm.. Thanks for the hero worship (please, just throw money).. I've been shooting for a while now and it seems that every year there are more folks out there. Part of it is the proliferation of 'automated' digital cameras. The part is .. oddly enough, people seem to think you can make money at it. I'll warn you right now, don't go into it thinking you'll get paid. If I break even on a days shooting, I'm doing back flips. Now that you've gotten the 'hard truth'.. It's a lot of fun and to tell the truth I get a kick out of getting one of those 'perfect' shots.. or at least one that's impressive enough for folks to say.. "Wow, that's impressive!"

Hmmmm... Trailers.. I actually know a guy that has one.. He's even got his own photo company.. I bet we could help him.. uh.. revamp some of his business..

OK, until the next time..err.. the first one.. or better yet, several miles on two wheels, until we can sit down and have a cold one.. I'll see ya out there..

Back from Minnesota
Well lets see there's of 211. I have a route out 33 into WBGV (West By God Virginia) that I've been meaning to go out on. Now will have to wait till spring. Along with a few of my usual ones out there. I have a Harley riding brother and brother-in-law out at Deep Creek Lake so I go out 50 up mount storm once a month in season. Oh, and around Hot Springs. Yea the airport roads. Although I think I'll have to re think some of them. The Uly doesn't mind the rough ones and I just don't know about the 1125R.
Yea I think you are right about Motor sports. I have a lot of time(years) invested in aviation. I would like to make just some towards this 400mm 2.8 that I have the Jones for.

I figure we can bring a couple of printers including the B9180 that I just bought and sell 13x19's at 35 to 40 bucks. No? Might pay for Ink?

300 miles good for you! I've been working my tail off and I think I didn't do much more than that all of December. Like tomorrow, I was going to go salivate, sit on, possibly ride and buy the new machine out at Groves tomorrow. Now it turns out I might have to work tomorrow afternoon through Friday night. I'm going out there in the morning raid or shine.
I can't believe that I missed these past to days.

Hi and welcome to the group! I have to admit I'm more on the message side of things than on storm fronts, but I live in Frederick, work at the dealer there (but on vacation till Feb 1st)...and if you look at the IMS thread I'm looking for someone to ride down with on Saturday ;) Although you have to be OK riding with a "classic", all I own is tubers....

Peter, I sign on the dotted line today! I have serial 142 and it runs great. Brakes are fantastic front and back. Engine was great with no problems. I loves to turn. The instruments are pretty cool. The mirrors are horrid. So I had just time to bring it up to 45 miles and then LEAVE it at the Dealer and come home on the Uly. That was weird.

Let's see.. Roads.. Damn, there are sooo many..

Skip 211 .. it's so "Done" and heavily covered by local law enforcement.. (thanks squid patrol) .. Try this instead.. Run down to Front Royal, then hop 55 West then left on 678 to 675 this'll run you into Luray. Then you can take a little rest from the twisties and turn right onto 340, follow it through Stanley and then head South to Elton and then onto 33 West. Now, about 33.. how far do you run it? Elkton WV? .. If you're up for what I usually make a two day ride.. Stop in Elkton and then bring 250 back into VA, the mountain section of that road is killer! Then, to help calm down a little, run 42 North into Harrisonburg. Now that's a good loop.

There are more, but I'll save them until some other time..

As for selling on site.. well, you just have to cover the vendor fees first.. But that's something to think about later.. Hmmmm.. I wonder, what do think the opportunities are for doin' some 'plane shots'?

Congrats on the bike! Be careful, at 6K RPM in sixth, you'll find yourself somewhere around.. 90.

Yea that is a long ride on 33. To do it in a day I'll run down 81 speed things up a bit. I can get down to that exit in about an hour from my house. Yea Elkins back up to 250. It's do able this way when the days are longer.
211 is definitely a Wednesday kinda of ride. I won't go near it on the weekends. I get different days off each week so I don' notice too much about 5 O on that road.

How about route 9 on the west side of 522 to 29 to 127 to 250 to 33? Oh man, it's all fun.

90mph, I can't do that again for a while. I just got a ticket on 50 for 81 in a 55 on Xmas eve on the Uly. Crapola.
