Seth, do you have news for all of us? That only appears when there is dirt involved. Unfortunately I'll be flying out of The 'Noke Wednesday bound for NYNY. I'll catch up when I return. Did you steal yourself a cheap Uly this week?

Jacks, good to hear the girls pulled through. I guarantee you'll be revering us all with the stories next year too.

Charlie, I have evolved my crashing habits away from the kickstand. Recently the wheels have been turning as I learn the gravitational pull lesson thing! NUTS

No news yet. I am pondering the purchase of a cherry 1990 DR350 with 3000 miles. Right now I am trying to justify the $1000 for a bike that I will ride very little. I could use that money for numerous other things that are a little more practical.

"Practical"???
We'll have NONE of that in here!!

Jackie, Congrats on the game! Great stuff when you see it all come together.

Nuts,
Hmmm, so you are taking the "bigger, better, faster, more" approach to crashing??
Not sure that's the way it's supposed to be done?

Fellas',
Expect even bigger and more spectacular crashes from the Nutster as he becomes better acquainted with Scarlett.
He has aready tried to suck me into jumping and I vaguely remember talk of a MotoX track. Not to mention he is currently trying to brush up on his extended wheelie techniques.
All this talk of tabletops, whoops and power slides has me worried about our resident crash pilot.
Never fear though, because when we go riding I ALWAYS take the camera so you guys can rest easy knowing that any pictures of his mishaps will find their way upon the pages of Badweb .

Seth, $1000 is waaaaaayy! reasonable. You can sell those things all day for $1500. I can assure you an once a month affair will be more than enough to forget the purchase price. It's not like it's gonna have depreciation like.....Buell.

Too soon? Yeah maybe so! But I am NUTS

Nuts,
I can not talk of "depreciation" on my original Buell purchase, because I will never sell that bike. It is me, I am it.(spiritual, you know)

I can, however, speak of Appreciation. It's a beautiful thing, even though I may never sell that one either.(I'm attached now, too much work into her)

That is my problem. I don't sell stuff.

Tank,
More power to ya' man!
I on the other hand seem to get caught up in buying, selling and trading in a never ending quest of trying to end up with the latest and greatest.
It is a maddening and obsessive cycle.

Charlie,
I need your wisdom here. Did you go through a mid life crisis because I swear I have been in the throes of one for the past several months.
As ya'll may remember I got my nose pierced and it helped for a bit but now the craziness has resurfaced. I don't have the money for a sports car and I care for the family too much to be stepping out. My options are limited but I have this overwhelming desire to do SOMETHING different.
Getting old sucks, going bald sucks, getting fat sucks, being called "Sir" by a 30 year old sucks and the health consequences of a misspent youth REALLY sucks!
I long for the days of having my ID checked when buying my beloved snuff.
Pity party is now over

Jackie,
Don't know about this thing you call"mid life crisis". Iv'e been going from one toy to another and one sport to another all my life. The only "crisis" I have ever encountered is when I run out of money trying to keep my interest in what ever is my thing at the time. As for the getting old(you crack me up)wait another twenty years, then look in the mirror and you'll have something to cry about. You guys got life by the short hairs, enjoy it.........Charlie

Charlie,
I guess old is relative. I had a few of my players say I was old the other day and it stung. Two years ago they said I was a big kid like them and now just two years later I am old. Woe is me .
If the next 20 years is anything like the last 20 I will soon have more hair on my back and ears than on my head, I will weigh 300 pounds and will be in real need of a hover round scooter instead of a motorbike .
Nuts says I am too sensitive and I am starting to believe it LOL!

Jim,
The only moving Nuts will be doing in the near future is moving his bowels when I goad him into taking a few of the jumps we ran across the other day.
Don't get me wrong the Xr650L is capable of jumping but a bit chunky and has less than ideal power curve to be learning on.
Doesn't have quite the oomph to launch well although I think a good jump could be made if hit at speed. Just gotta keep that rear wheel turning to keep the front end up since the bike is pretty heavy in the front.
I would not be surprised to see pics of some jumping escapades next weekend.
I practiced wheelies today in front of the house to try and find the balance point of the bike and managed to pull a few 100 footers. The next logical step is launching them into orbit off of a nice burm .

So how's things down your way?

Nuts,
So how'd the Court thing go?
pm me if you cant say here.

Had another Bueller by the house for a TPS, and it was a 12 with a NEW race ECM. Man was that thing finikey(sp). It took the reset great, but had idle issues once cooled down. I think it was just the AFV out of serious whack, I hope. How far is East Troy above sea level??

The Econo Drummer is loud as F**k, compared to my original....

Thump, thump, thump,...

The Ducati line has some fantastic motorcycles. Just make sure you have a trailer and a good mechanic near by.Iv'e owned them and I love them, but I hate to work on them.Plus parts are outrageously high. Looking at them is intoxicating, so leave your wallet locked up when you go looking.Charlie

Good advice about the wallet there Charlie.

I took the tires to the Duc dealer and looked around for a while. I think I bit three holes in my tongue talking myself out of a very clean 500mi 07' Multistrada 1000 for $8500. It was murder not to even sit on the thing.(not sure I could reach the ground, anyway)

That is a very reasonable price for an 07 Multi. The 07 should be the 1100 with decreased service costs. That is entirely relative because dealer network is crappola. The longer i looked at those bikes the more I was appreciating "Scarlett." When the time comes that I am able to outride that bike I'll be in the market again. I honestly do not see that happening anytime soon. But 17" wheels are on the wish list. Back in the friendly, clean mountains soon. NUTS

Nuts,
Rode the Pig around Crowells Gap and the other gravelly roads and then hit the club in search of some reptiles.
Saw a nice flock of turkeys right at the honeyhole with a big ole' gobbler strutting around with his fan out. They are STILL breeding and henned up!!
Got a wild hair and hit the top logging rode and then hooked a left and rode to the old cemetary. It is pretty grown up down there but I managed to not bail it.
I saw a total of 5 deer (4 doe and one big bodied buck with small antlers forming) and every one of them just stood there looking as a scooted past.
We gotta go back and do some pencil tracings since the lettering on the headstones is getting extremely faded.
Anyway for the guys who don't know, this old cemetary is way out in the middle of nothing and the headstones are dated in the early 1860s'. It amazes me that someone used to live out there and now nobody knows anything about them or who they might have been.

Notice to the left of the second headstone in the background there is a small headstone. There is another small one to the right of the other headstone which isn't visible in the picture. It appears to be 2 adults and 2 small children.
Sad stuff and makes me appreciate that I still have some time left to enjoy.

Are the headstones inside the stone "fortification" looking "building" thing there??

That thing looks as old as some of the stuff they are digging up at Jamestown. Stuff that was filled in and built over hundreds of years ago.

Cool stuff.

Tank,
The headstones are indeed inside of the rock walls. I ain't real good with estimates but I would say it measures about 10ft x 10ft square.
It is so old that the big oak in the middle grew, matured and then died.
I'm gonna try to talk Nuts into helping me clean it out so it lasts another couple hundred years .
