Jackie, I tried calling earlier. Tomorrow I am in. What time and how do we register as bidders? Cash, credit, c.o.d, barter, work, theft? It is supposed to be NASTY weather tomorrow but I'm up for a ride into Blacksburg. I went for a run this afternoon at Fishburn Park; covered up in squirrels. I mean atleast 30 in 15 minutes none further than 20 yard out. That isn't hunting though. Mail me or give a shout for tomorrow. NUTS

Probably has a metal recoil pad so I would only shoot it in Winter when I had on ample padding.
Unless you are immune to recoil or your name is "Matthew Quigley" I would look at something else since big kickers tend to make you a poor shot due to the flinch just before pulling the trigger. Anticipation of the recoil really can play with your mind!!

Throw a Firebolt fairing on there and it is the complete package. I am strongly considering talking with the truck liner dude to see if red can be arranged. I ain't gonna tell that other guy though because I wanna be alone in my uniqueness.
Screw that Kimber man! I've done gone and found me a 22 mag Cooper with a Leupold 8 - 16 scope. You just shoot your Starlings at 20 yards. I'll take care of the ones from 21 - 125 yards.
You going on the road trip to pick it up with me on Monday? It is in Maryland and the store supposedly is THE BOMB!!

I was thinking you should atleast go to the shop in Salem. Now you'll have 2 Coopers and the season will be over. There will be some weight gain should you decide to cover the entire body in the truck stuff. It might add 5 pounds or so I guess. But then how much does a billet 330 section rear weigh? It is of course your business but I would hold out for a nice shotgun so you could widen your repetoir. You're quickly becoming R.D.; King of the rimfires! NUTS

Charlie,
Good to see your still with us! Just because you have moved to the land of perpetual flatness doesn't mean you can't be an honorary member of Fast and Loose LOL!
At least it is warm down where you are and you are riding instead of talking about it.

Jason,
Just think of the potential though. The 22LR is good for Squirrel and game a little bigger if a clean headshot is made but the 22 mag opens up a whole new door of shooting opportunity. It will harvest game up to the size of a decent sized dog humanely. I have even read where people use them for Mountain Lion with ballistic tips. Now granted we ain't huntin' lions but I have been longing for a Texas trip to hunt larger predators like Javelina, Coyote, Bobcat and yes even Cougars.
I keep pondering the Kimber but I just don't have the desire to shoot handguns like I do my rimmies which makes it useless except for personal defense. Home defense is covered by my Mossberg which will work quite effectively without penetrating the neighbors walls.
I have also given mucho thought about the shotgun. I originally gave up skeet and trap because I didn't have anybody to go with consistantly and I fear it will be the same once you get situated. Also the Rabbit hunting is in all reality a dream without dogs since it seems that something (including that freakin' cat) has decimated the population.
That brings me back to the rimfires. I have always enjoyed shooting them year round and think it goes a long way in honing my shooting skills towards deer season. Plus it is just downright fun and relatively inexpensive.
I laid awake last night thinking about it and it feels right but I would still like to hear your comments.

Unfortunately I am shackled with a lack of funds. I am coming from a spending addiction I used to have that was promptly cured by unemployment. I am working on making what little I have go as far as it will go. Theoretically that sounds prudent but it is quite difficult in action. You make excellent arguments for owning a plethora of rimfires the most important though is "want." I have a friend who hypothesized that human beings ultimately do what they want not what they need. He supposed we make decisions and then reason with ourselves the want into a need. I have yet to find an instance where this is incorrect. I feel if you have the means then "want" is all that matters. If I had the means I would own 5 motorbikes,5 fishing rigs, 5 rimfires, 5 handguns, 5 surfboards, 5 wives...LOL. As long as you have enough left over to make riding season eventful I'm all for your spending flurries. I'm glad it's not me having trouble blowing that dough; that could be ugly. Looks like tomorrow morning will be spent with the better half as days off are few and far between for her. But sometime afternoon would be fine if you want to take a 5 hour ride. tuesday could work as well just let me know. NUTS

Seriuosly thoough, R.D. wanted to go and he has to be back in the early evening so it looks like I will be leaving around 7:45 a.m.. Bummer too because it would have been a good chance for you two to "bond".
I'll email you when I get back to let you know how the store was.
Have fun with your wife sucka

Don't worry, we will have a most excellent riding season. Just remember we have to work some quality fishing time in there too.

Hey good luck tomorrow. I hope that place is the money pit for you. That cooper sure is sweet, I'm thinking about adding one in the next 15 years. I will definitely be looking to take the conceal class and be packing shortly thereafter. My brother has a line on a SW Florida wild hog hunt. I'll give you the details when I see you next. Check out that link I sent you above. that is the bike you should build. The guy bought that thing for $4500. That is the nicest Buell I have ever seen. I mean it buddy, I would sell my Lightning for that one in a second. Check it out in detail chain drive, double discs, custom aircleaner etc...I am NUTS

I spent my wad of dough.
What do you think? Compliments the Cooper pretty nicely huh?
You better start oiling the slide on your pump so we can hit the skeet this weekend.
Don't worry I have never shot a Beretta so I'll probably miss more than I hit

Non members costs 3 bucks a game. I figure will shoot 4 rounds so 12 smackers will cover it.
If you hit Wallyworld for shells get the Winchester pack that comes 4 boxes to a pack. Make sure to get AT LEAST #7 shot and preferably #9 if you can find it. I believe it is around $12.00 for 4 boxes.
I'm kinda nervous since I ain't shot in about a year and with a brand I have never shot with before. Those guys up there will probably be laughin' there butts off at me.
Feel free to bring the 06 and I'll bring mine. After putting that 50mm on there I need to get her sighted in again.
If we whack a bunch of Starlings and put them out Saturday night we may be able to get into some Fox and Raccon on Monday night. I talked to Fish and Game and it is legal for landowners (which I am considered) to take Fox year round on their private property.

Jason,
Did you have fun at work. Save any old ladies?
I went to the club and shot 3 rounds of skeet tonight. First round I broke 21 and then went in the clubhouse and warmed up. Second round I broke 21 and went to the clubhouse to warm up. Third round I went to shoot and a new guy started talking to me about snakes since everybody told him I was "the snakeman". After an hour of standing in the freezing cold I finally broke away and scored a whopping 9! That is the lowest score I have ever shot. I was so cold and shaking so bad I couldn't have hit a low flying B52 bomber!
The Beretta performed wonderfully but has the automatic safety that resets every time the barrel is opened. That is going to take some getting used to!
I also tried out some new ammo in the Cooper while I was there and believe I have found the ideal brand for my gun. It is the Wolf Match Extra and groups were unbelievable tight. You ought to try several different brands to see what the 10/22 likes best.
R.D. wants to go on a Fox hunt tomorrow. If I can get my mom to watch the girls are you up to it. He gets off at 6:00 so we wouldn't have to leave until around 5:00.
Let me know

Jackie, I'll be out of work at 4:00 Thursday. I can make that happen, just have to grab some food on the way up. My stuff is packed from last time! I'll be at the place where I get paid from 8:30 until 4:00. I use the "W" word as little as possible as it frightens me. I did have to save a child yesterday...twice. Same kid, same horrible parent. The only redeeming quality in this line of work is its almost certain ability to make one NOT have children. Alright I've got to go and get psyched up for the day. Jason

It looks like it will be Sat. before we get out in the wild again.
Looks like the weather could be nasty so dress warm. If it is windy those little clay discs can do some very strage things indeed.
