I apologize if you already read this post in the Quick Board section.

Have a buddy (he rides an R6) that is interested in a sportster that some guy at his work is selling. He looked at it and said it had some rust and looked well used. It has over 100,000 miles on it. Here is the description from the owner:

FYI, here are the specs ...

I am the original (and only) owner and bought the bike new from Space Coast HD
1998 Harley-Davidson Sportster Sport (aka XL1200S)
1,200cc (aka 72 cubic inches) of displacement
Dual-plug heads and single-fire ignition
10:1 compression (must use Premium gas only)
Dual-front disc with floating rotors
Single-rear disc
Around 100,000 miles, I replaced the stock cylinders with a Wisco Kit, which included new cylinders, pistons, rings, and wrist pins. I also replaced the valves, cams, and cam followers. I did NOT separate the bottom-end (cases).

What's it worth?

"I replaced the stock cylinders, etc..."

And his qualifications are...?
100,000 miles on a bike that has not alot of resale value anyway...It wouldn't be worth much to me.

I do not hear of many XL motors going to the 100,000 mile mark.

especially an XL1200S which was made to be twisted on a regular basis.

can you confirm that 100.000 mile figure?

same cylinders, crank, cams. etc.
