Got the Maier windshield installed today. It arrived from JC Whitney via fedex.
Subtotal: $62.50 USD
Shipping: $16.98 USD
Tax: $.00 USD
Total: $79.48 USD

I paid extra to get it here quicker. You could choose another shipping method and have it take longer, for less bread.

Overall, I would have to say that the fit it pretty good. It definitely makes a difference in the way the bike feels on the highway. Would I suggest this over a designed unit for the XBS? No way, aesthetically, it doesn't look manufactured for the bike. The mounting system for me was tight, with the Fly Racing bars, which are low. But it does look ok. I haven't got a way to post pix yet, will do when I can.

Ride report. Big difference up to about 110 MPH. After that, it develops an oscillation, which can be stopped by sitting up on the bike, allowing you to power through it. Good until about 120, when the resistance seems to slow the bike down. It is not aerodynamic at all. But does it do the job? Yes, it cuts the wind by a magnitude. You can sit up and relax at 90 plus, without worrying about the wind pushing you off the bike. An added unplanned test was getting caught in a rainstorm on the way back. Until traffic slowed to a stop ( like they never see rain ) the little screen did a lot to help keep the water out of my crotch area.

Overall. I saw the other day that someone has manufactured a screen with a small windshiled that bolts on in place of the regular flyscreen. It looks much better, and probably has better aerodynamics. Jp graphics, but the price is probably a lot more than I paid for this unit. The best part about it is that it is detachable, and once mounted, two little thumbscrews will detach it and store it for later use. The brackets remain on the bars. Pretty cool, all in all. Some thing I would definitely use for a Daytona run. Maybe not too much for around town. I will have to see as I use it.

Here's the JC Whitney link

The JP Graphics part converts today to close to 500 dollars unpainted and without shipping. Looks great, but ouch.
