Okay, so the XB9R is painted, polished, and put back together. Got all the mods done: Open Airbox(completely gone except the 12 top part), Holes in my Airbox Cover, K&N, TFI, D&D. So I set the TFI to recommended settings to start with, and I rode the bike around to set the ECM(Battery had been disconnected for a while). Let me tell you this, NEW BIKE. The D&D is loud. Might have to run earplugs on the long runs. They say the front is hard to keep down, well, they are right! Just slamming the throttle down while about 3500 will lift the front off the ground about 6 inches, and I know if I wanted to wheelie, it would do it easy. The thing sputters a bit in 3rd at about 3-3500 when you give it more than a gradual throttle increase. It does backfire a bit on decel., but it's not bad, sounds like a hotrod spitting out unused gas. So this week I'll work on the tfi, and then talk to my local dealer about the Dyno tune. I'll get some pics of the bike when the sun comes out! I just wish it wouldn't be raining like this!! I was lucky to just get an hour with it!! |
