I take people by their word and believe what they say until they prove to me that I can't trust them. I'm not saying I'm not leary of some people or business establishments but for the most part I will treat you the way I want to be treated until you break that implied agreement....Odie
P.S. If you think about it, that's a pretty good post considering it is from the owner. I, for one, appreciate the fact that he reads things here and felt compelled to post. I'm sure if things aren't fixed to Dbenjami's satisfaction he will let us know quickly.....my 2 pennies worth.....Odie |

not saying you directly sir, ive just had a bad expierence with my service manager of my local dealership...his service crew scratched my rims on my xb while changing the tires, and wouldnt replace em...but then when i had my wreck, he put the rims on the estimate, even thou the back rim was undamaged (from the accident)
ive learned to only trust myself, and 2nd guess everyone else |

I am sure the bike will be fixed up just perfect...
However, this does open up a new can of worms... I bought the bike around the beginning of July, with roughly 550 miles on it.. As far as I could tell, it was in flawless condition, one representative of the displayed mileage. Not a scratch on it - http://mypage.iu.edu/~dbenjami/DSC00132.jpg. One other tid-bit.. when I removed the OEM Stock ECU.. someone had taken a sharpie and written "OEM" on it... Is there any way the factory could have done that? I might just have to give the dealership I bought it from a call.
Just one more reason I should have bought a NEW bike!

Jeff,
A quick question. Isn't the fuel injector merely held in place with O-ring? I thought it just pops out by pulling, after taking out the metal clip. Just wondering why anyone would use a screw driver to remove the injector. |

dben -- can't imagine anyone writing OEM on a part, unless they were swapping things out -- sounds like someone was playing mix and match with components -- not necessarily a bad thing, but it certainly supports what the dealer wrote |

We wondered the same thing Dcmortalcoil. After removing the fuel rail assembly the injectors should simply be removed by pulling them up and out of the intake manifold. These particular injectors had what appeared to be plier marks on them and there were pry marks on the bottom of the injectors as well as the manifold.
If an injector seems stuck in the manifold you can spray it with an anti-seize lube such as DW40, give it time to soak the o-ring and try again. It should then come out easily. When installing the injectors, it is a good idea to lightly coat the o-ring with grease before installing. This helps keep the o-ring pliable and makes for easier removal.

If the fellow didn't realize the metal clip had to be removed first, the next step would be to pry the injector out. Not that I would know this from experience mind you . . .  |

well....It all looks good here in hoosier land ....don't it.
BTW I think I got passed by Dbenj today in my big yellow schwans truck...atleast it sounded like a drummer and it looked like his bike.
Jeff stevens and company at hd/buell of bloomington are the culprits that got me started on buell. and if some are wondering if jeff rides.....well yes and on the track he is a fast bugger ( for a guy his age)
and they are one top notch dealer when it comes to buells and any sportbike is welcomed.
joe stines is top shelf all the way, as well as the others in the service dept.
just look at how well the race team did in their second year and you will hear more of them with josh guyer riding for them and joe (oldguyer) stines teching the bike and jeff stevens the owner behind the effort 100%
not that my word means anything to anybody but myself....but the truth is the truth.
