On the way to work this morning the entire gauge cluster went out as well as the turn signals. I still have power to the headlights. Any ideas? Haven't looked over anything yet but might it just be a fuse? Speedo, RPM, all indicator lights, etc. are none functional as well as the turn signals being out (so it's not limited to just the cluster).

From what I've seen it could be the voltage regulator, I guess they can be prone to failure...One of the guys who knows more will probably chip in...But do a search for that and see what you come up with.

Damn. Looking at some of those posts and it does sound the same. A lot of guys were mentioning they lost the gauge cluster and then lost power completely 2 miles down the road. Now I'm stuck at work worried about driving it home. : (

OK. Just ran out and checked the fuses. The ACC fuse was burnt out (thank you Buell for including spares). Cluster functioned as soon as I replaced the fuse. Worried though based on all the posts that came up in the search of voltage regulator problems, especially since my batter was completely dead a few weeks ago and I just replaced it two weekends ago (although I think the reason the battery died was because I had the fork in the lock position and went a tad too far and engaged the rear brake light........why do they even have that?).

The ignition was turned forward? I've pondered that myself. Who knows?

Go to your nearest auto store and grab a few spares just to get you home.

I forgot how they diagnose the regulator vs a short in a wire though did you find anything on that?

I found the testing procedure so will run through that when I get home.
