What seems to work the best to clean the aluminum color finish on these wheels? Something that requires minimal effort?

I use Simple Green mixed about 50/50 with water in a spray bottle and one of those long handled kitchen dishwashing brushes (make sure the brush and handle is plastic as it is soft).

Spray a bit on half of the wheel, brush a bit to agitate, roll back 1/2 turn, spray/brush again and rinse. Then dry it off.

For a quicky wash that is even faster use WD40 sprayed on a rag fairly wet, wipe on and clean followed by a dry rag.

I use Turtle Wax spray wheel cleaner and a pressure washer. Works great on all metal parts, wheels etc.

Then I use my compressor to dry bike.

When they are really tarnished and dirty I use a light hydrochloric acid solution that takes the alloy back to a clean milky surface. Then an aluminium polish.
The product i use is the same as trucks use for their alloy bullbars and body parts(tankers etc)
Down here it goes by the names CT12 & CT18.

If not removed completely, I've found S100 to do more damage than good. Simple Green works really well, can be purchased in large quantities at your local "Sam's Warehouse Club", and is environmentally friendly.

Then, follow up with a good polish like the one mentioned above or Mother's.
