Hi guys, this is my first post. I've been riding since I was 16 and am 30 now. I've owned sport bikes, naked bikes, a harley etc. I've always been fascinated with Buells. I love the naked street fighter type bikes most of all so it seems a Buell might be right up my street. I'm riding a sport bike at the moment but am seriously considering picking up an XB9SX that's come up for sale in my area.

It's a 2005 model year. I will probably try to go look at it tomorrow. Is there anything I should especially look out for when inspecting these bikes? Thanks for any help.

Look for the same things you'd look for on any other bike. Frame damage, bent or scuffed parts, steering stops on the trees, oil leaks (base gaskets, etc.) and just listen to it before riding.

So, nothing in particular to worry about or check on this specific model? If that's the case that's refreshing!

There are things you should worry about ,but you can't check them without getting your hands dirty!

Some maintenance history on paper would be nice!

Watch out for obvious stuff like carbon fiber "frame protectors". Just bought an xb9r with these on, took it home to find the frame/tank area bashed in. I got a decent deal and the bike will be for track use only so it didn't matter much to me. Pucks covered up much of the damage anyway.
