Well, havent been around the forum much in the last couple years, nor the Buell scene in general. Unfortunately, such is life.

Therefore I believe it is time to sell the bike as I would prefer it to be ridden than sit, as I know what happens when they are left to themselves for to long.

My question is what I should honestly be asking for the bike. My thought was $4,500 firm but I have always found good info here and I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm off base.

The bike is as follows:
-2003 Xb9r w/ 14k mi
-Bike has never been laid down. Bike has fallen over (0mph) on both side once, only damage are scratches on the bottom of the swing arm (I think a number of us know how this works).
-1inch slightly noticable scratch in scoop from neighbors 4yr old, how do you get mad at a 4yr old, oh well
-Has always started and never been down.
-All maint has been consistent
-New rear tire Michelin 2ct
-Full factory race kit (Exhaust, K&N, ECU)
-Saintly Chain conversion, sprockets and 530 X-ring in excellent condition
-Drummer chain guard (almost just want to keep this)
-Headlight recall completed by dealer.
-Wheels and heel guards powder coated
-Windscreen, scoops, gaurds painted blk with gold flake
-XBdashboards - no KMH
-LED all around
-Smoke tail light lense
-Passenger touring pillion
_Saddle bags (used once)
-autocomm pro-avi

Im sure there are one or two things I'm forgetting, thanks for the help, maybe if I'm lucky it'll end up in a members hands. Thanks you all. *Sorry, the orage only came out well in teh one pic, but the powdercoating does match the Buell badges

Would you consider selling your saddlebags seperatly? I would be very interested if they will fit my bike, a 2008 XB12scg I think they will but I'm not sure. Thanks, Steve

The resale market for Buells is no worse off than the resale market for your beloved Hayabusa, which, btw, is built on an aging platform and is currently being outgunned in every conceivable way by the ZX14.

Buelltastic,
I would think you should be able to get $3500 to $4000 pretty easy. $4500 might be a bit steep even with all of your add-ons but if you're patient you might get it.

I think it's a great bike at a good price. The buying will pick up as springtime springs.

Don't own a Hayabusa, sold my 2010 xb12r for $7200 low mileage, for a 2012 kawasaki zx14r last fall.

Point on the hayabusa, you can buy them cheap and add a turbo to them and still have the bike be reliable.

I had a chance to buy a low mileage buell 2002 tuber buell 1200 lightning for only $2k a few weeks ago for a flat track conversion.

As for the used buell market late model ones with low mileage are lucky to get $4k- $5k and the older years are lucky to get $1500-$2500 for.

I just tell it like it is, the simple fact is that Buells have terrible resale value and you have to take a pretty big hit when you try and sell it.

Heres a link to the guys xb9r from nada read it and weep !!!

Now compare the Buell to a 2003 Suzuk GSXR1000 resale value the facts are plain to see, the Buell is worth $2295 and the Suzuki GSXR1000 is worth $4900. Similar bikes , similar original retail value, but drastically different resale values.

Here is a working link to the 03 gsxr1000

http://www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycles/2003/Suzuki/ GSX-R1000K3-988cc/Values

If you take the GSXR1000's average retail price its even worse for the buell, the gsxr1000 is $6445 and the buell $3000 average retail.

Also average retail price is when your buying from a dealer with a waranty and some prep work.

Buying from a private party the price is always on the lower end of the scale and trade in price would even be below the low retail price.

The NADA price guide is usually the best as the prices accurately reflect a car or bike real value.

Yeah but it all boils down to this- no matter what you say or even prove, your words carry no weight with anyone on here. So type until you're blue in the face and then type some more. Nobody cares. It's important to me and alot of other people on here that you keep your promise and leave.

No buell + nothing good whatsoever to contribute to Buell enthusiasts or Buell conversation = no reason to be here.

Not trying to piss anyone off, seller wants to know what he can expect to get when they sell or someone buys a buell.

Well this is what a buyer and seller can expect to pay or return on a used buell.

This is the reality of the current market for buells.

Just look at what they go for on ebay with firm bids and you will see that a lot of them ever get over $1500-$2500 bid on them for early years 99 - 05 and even the late model 1125's and 08-10 xb's only get around $4000 K

Ebay Bids are meaningless, there are cars on ebay with $1 bids, and others with $1m. A better idea is to look at recently completed listings that sold (not just were bid on), but even that is not perfect due to deadbeat buyers, scam auctions, and other sales that never really took place.

Used Buell values have always been terrible, which is a good thing for buyers, you can easily pick up 3 or 4 Buells for the price of one comparable bike. Would you really spend $6500 on on a 10 year old GSXR, when you can get several different types of Buells for that? $6500 can get you a great 08 1125R, with some spare cash for a daily beater Blast and a project restoration tuber.

Buelltastic - $4500 is a little on the high side for what I would be asking, but I would try for it but be open to reasonable offers. The bike looks clean and well cared for, so you do not have to take a low ball.
