I know, I said I didn't want to make these because of the weld quality from Magnaflow, but I had a couple of guys talk me into making them again. I don't know how or why they managed it, but I made a couple, figured I'd post a pic of the powdercoated one. Polished tips do make it look better. I have one more here (spare) that I can build later if needed, but I'm still 4-5 weeks out on builds.

For those of you wondering, yes, these do make good power and they sound pretty good as well. Since I keep getting requests to build these, I will do so, but I highly recommend getting them coated, it hides the welds on the muffler pretty well.

What are you charging for the setup pictured above?

$545 shipped in the US. Base price on the pipe is $425, coating is $85 and shipping is $35.

The guy doing the coating does not like the polished outlets, it's more work for him since it has to be taped, blasted, outgassed, retaped, shot with powder and then baked.

I built one of those for my bike. Not as pretty as Dean's. Great sounding. Deep tone. I have nearly 20 K on mine. Get one! Dean does good work.

Price sounds reasonable.
I know magnaflow makes many different mufflers, some are straight through and some are not.
Which muffler are you using, is there a quieter option, do you have optional outlets? (outlets: smaller, single, not coated/polished.)

It's the 11148 muffler, 3.5" x 7" x 14" body. The inlet from magnaflow is 2.25", it gets cut off and a 2.5" inlet replaces it. I don't know why they neck it down, but you can see the squeeze marks on it when it's new. The outlets are 2" and it's straight through. I did a writeup on this a couple of years ago when I did the first one.

No need for outgassing on those and if those are his steps he's doing more work than needed. Fair price on the coating though.

That's just what he told me, I don't do paint/powder coating. All I know is he does a decent job for me at a reasonable price.

I think the owner's pretty pleased with it.
