Hey guys.
2004 xb12s with bueibxxx ecu

Im still having issues with my cooling fan. It seems no matter what i set the on and off temps at, It never comes on (at idle or low speed)

does anyone have any insight as to how this fan logic works?

the fan WILL come on if the bike is warm and I shut it off
the fan WILL come on if i am cruising at highway speeds for an extended period of time

Also... according to my documentation (tuning guide 2.0) it looks like the fan (key on) shut off temp is 170 and the turn on temp is 130. why would the "off temp" be higher than the "on temp"?

The fan will NOT turn on when Idling, even above 170c. Sitting in hot florida traffic, this is when I need my fan the most... Not while cruising down the highway.

At first I suspected a bad head temp sensor but, it appears to read the temps fine in ecm spy. It also knows to turn on the fan when warm with KEY OFF.

What's the deal?!?

Even with temps set low, the fan still refuses to some on:

177* at idle, still no fan:

If I recall correctly the fan does not come on until 459F under running conditions.
Turns off at 428F

I'm not sure how to view those fan values in ECMspy, but here's what mine ('06 XB12) shows with TunePro...

Key off - off temp = 150
Key off - on temp = 170
Key on - off temp = 180
Key on - on temp = 220

So when running it would have to get up to 220 before the fan comes on.

Ah. One of these days I'll figure out how to use tuner pro...

I just cant figure out how to change the values. I can change them and flash them back but, nothing actually changes how the fan acts.
