Hey All,
So I've got a 2007 STT and have been looking for an aftermarket seat for it. After looking around, I like the Corbin Gunfighter + Lady which they of course only list for the XB-12SS.

After searching around, Corbin has evidently told several people that the GF+L won't fit on the STT.

Since its well known that the XB12SS seat will fit on an STT I don't get it. But I was hoping anyone might have a picture of this or another Corbin seat on an STT. I just can't afford to take the plunge on a seat I can't use.

Thanks Guys

No, a XB12S seat will NOT fit an STT. An SS seat will fit an STT however.

Before I dropped the coin on a Corbin I would check in to a custom build on a stock pan like Baldwin (a known Buell fan) or Rich's or one of the Mayer brothers. I have had two Corbin's one on a Z1000 the other on a R1200R. The Kawi was good I liked it a lot but if the bike sat for a few weeks without being ridden the foam would get stiff. After a couple hundred miles it would soften up.

The one on the RR was just ok from a comfort stand point but the seat pan was an engineering POS. It was poorly made from chopper gun fiber glass, did not fit well and the latch plate required modification to work properly.

I've had three custom seats done, all were price competitive with a Corbin or Sargent, and all of them were much better than my Corbin experiences.

I have a second STT seat in the basement waiting for the day that I decide to pull the trigger on a custom build.

Heh I definitely left one of the "S" in XB12SS off that first post.

I was looking at the Baldwin earlier actually. Does it also sit about an inch lower like the Corbin? A big reason for the new seat was it would let me sit lower on the bike. Right now the STT stock seat is a bit too tall for me.

I scooped a SS seat with an electric knife my parents have had since I was a kid, it's got two serrated blades and is great for cutting turkeys up.

Worked well enough, then a local upholstery shop did a little touch up shaping then covered it for around a hundred dollars. An inch is easy to take off the stock seat. Since the stock seat cover was crash damaged I got it cheap too. Whole thing set me back maybe $175 with shipping and tax.

Bike is still a little tall if I want to flat foot at the stop light due to the suspension.

It's good to know Corbin isn't all that. I'm still considering their seat for the passenger back rest option, something to help keep my nine year old on the back.

I'm willing to bet that there's a legal issue with saying that a seat designed for 2 up riding "fits" a bike with no passenger pegs. If it fits the Ss, it should fit the STT. Obviously you need to add passenger pegs to safely carry a passenger though.

Pj, Baldwin is a CUSTOM seat. He can build it anyway you want it. I talked with him about building one for me and he was very accommodating a little cranky but professional overall. I have back burnered getting mine done because for me the stock STT seat isn't that bad and I have some other things that I want to use that coin for.
