Hello all,

I've been trying to find some threads in the knowledge vault about using a race ECM with a drummer exhaust (or any aftermarket exhaust really). I'm running the stock with my drummer now (along with the race filter) and have very few problems. Coughs a little off the line when it's cold in the first couple gears and of course the backfire issue that I hear others talking about. Might be running a little lean. I've done the 10miles at 3500rpm thing a few times and it smooths out other things but not this. Could anyone help with this or at least point me in the right direction? Would I need to do anything with the stepper motor? I took out the cable but the motor is still in place. Anyway, thanks for any help.

PS.... I haven't noticed any performance issue with this but has anyone noticed a high pitch "whine" when the bike is running? It's not ALL the time but most of the time and it sounds kind of like the fuel infection system charging itself when I first turn the bike on before starting but I hear this WHILE the bike is running (sometimes). Sounds like it's coming from the front of the bike under the airbox but it's hard to isolate with the other bike noise around it.

You'll notice that get louder as the tank empties. It's the fuel pump and is located just above and inside of the left rear set.

As far as the drummer/race ECM thing... Definately get it done. The Kevin and Brain are standup guys and they say it works better all around with a race ECM.
