On second thought, the pickup screen attachment on mine is not a single circle like the pump photo above or those filters, the 08-09 must have a different connection as mine has a large or a small circular part next too each other at the mount.

Could it be the pressure regulator? If that has failed it may not be letting fuel get to the injectors. You would need a pressure gauge and T to check this.

Local Buell dealer?

not ONLY a local Buell dealer but PRECISION Harley-Davidson a sponsor HERE.The parts were SURPRIZINGLY easy to access.

I service my Ducati fuel pumpS regularly and was surprised my Buell service manual didn't specify a service interval.I got curious.Have the COOLEST most overkill puller i machined myself too.

My screens attachment to the pump is not a circular attachment like that but I'll look into getting one.

When you guys say service, you just mean replacing filters and o-rings, no? I can't imagine (given the inline one wasn't clogged at all) that such a simple refresh would fix any problems that resulted in a bike not even running for an extended period of time.

Found a screen that isn't the perfect shape but should work. Also found a bit of damage to the connection between connector clip and wire to low fuel sensor. Going to repair that and then when the rest of the parts come tomorrow install everything in the bike. Fingers are crossed but not super hopeful. This weekend I'll look into the vent as well as swap out the spark plugs.

When these things fail, do they do it suddenly (won't even prime) or can they just perform poorly?
