I replaced my stock tail light with an XBlight on my XB12Ss over the holidays. http://www.xblights.net Wow, what a huge difference! The running light is brighter, the brake light is way brighter, & I also went with the integrated turn signals but left the original turn signals connected. I am very happy with the results. It looks good and is much more visible than the stock light was. I’ve seen several negative forum comments about cheaper replacement lights on various boards and many positive comments about XBlights so I went with the XBlight. I highly recommend them for any Buell owner.

Great light, great service. Robert installed mine himself... It's about 3 years old now and going strong.

I cheaper alternative that some people may want is to simply get an LED replacement lamp that also has the white LEDs for the license plate light. Again the low tail light is much brighter than stock, and the stop is very much brighter than stock. Think I paid $16 for mine but don't really remember where I got it. This allows you to keep the DOT stamped plastic for places where state inspections can be a difficulty. My brother got one for has metric bike that flashes the break once or twice quickly then comes on full, this would be the next big suggestion because it most definitely increases your visibility. The flash is very fast at less than half a second. I've seen the same flash on LED lights for tractor trailers so you might have seen the same thing just for comparison.

I have a pair of the XBLights units on my bikes, they are well worth the coin.

It is understandable that not everyone can afford it, so if you are on a budget your best bet is the OEM 2010 tail lamp. Requires slight modification to work on a 09 or older, but well worth it. American Sport Bike sells it pre modified.
