OK I have my Uly now for a few months. I am now ready to tune. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to buy to run diagnostics on the ECM. What cables, programs, downloads etc. do I need. I am assuming that you need a laptop or pc?

Laptop with a good battery, ECMspy software, ECMspy cable, Megasquirt, Megalogviewer software, following the instructions at http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Do-It-Yourse lf-Buell-Mods/ECMspy-megalog-tunning. Take your headlight fuse out b4 you start. If you use Windows 7, make sure you do everything as Administrator....that ought to get you started.
I'm trying the same thing.

What year XB? ^ if its a pre-08 model. If its '08 or newer it might be more complicated.

He has an '07. If you are running Vista or above I would suggest turning off user account control.

Yeah, I'm tuning with a Win 7 setup, and the instructions written for XP just don't work. If anybody has problems, I'll be glad to help with the teensy bit I know about it.

MLV has completely changed. steps need to be done in a different order to work on ALL versions of operating system.

This goes for ECMSPY, TUNERPRO RT and ECT...

Something new is being work on for a cure for the community of Buells. Be patient, It will surface. All the data and file types have been compiled and transferred to the proper people. Now we wait.... tick tock
