I believe the thinnest the pads (front) are supposed to get is 1mm; which is .0393 inches. Last time I checked mine, they were .038. Good thing I have to change them before the season starts. (Message edited by gunut75 on March 08, 2011) | ||

Gunut, you have your conversion inverted...1mm is .03937" | ||

Thanks Datsaxman. I've been using my 25.4 as of late, and it's stuck in that gear. I suppose my pads are done then........... I wasn't going to put any more miles on em anyway. I was using the rear brake more than usual. | ||

Hey man, there's no stupid questions...we all learned at some point! When the pad surface (arrow below) gets thin is when you want to replace them. Once that pad material wears away, you'll have the steel backing plate rubbing against the rotor and the rotor will get destroyed.  | ||

Make sure you check both sides as some systems wear one side faster than the other. | ||
