It took 45 minutes to tear it all down with limited hand tools but its done.
The race bike is now all apart and will undergo a scrubbing and all new paint. From there it will get lights turns and ect to put it back to street use. I will install the same engine even though its built there is no reason to open it up since it only did 6 practice laps and one sprint race.

The frame will stay white but it will get stripped to bare alum again and get repainted a heavy metallic pearl white and some loud body color. while apart I'll turn the race full body into a street body with side stand and repaint a extra set of stock plastics as well for daily use. Now I'll be back to two street use Buells instead of one sitting all the time and one used.

Its just a pile of parts and the frame is in stage one of the primer phase already.
I'll put it into photobucket when done and post it all at once.

What are you going to do for headlights? Going to put in the stock things or go for a nice Hella option?

the 2003 polished one...
I painted the frame parts today.
But forgot the swing arm brace arghhh... now I have to attempt to match the pearl... OMG thats gonna be hard. I have an extra polished one I may just use that one if it doesn't look goofy. I'll try matching the paint when I do the body work next week.

Next is to let is sit a couple days and put all new bearings in it re-tap all threaded holes to clean them and rinse out the no stick in the Axel area so its clean and spotless. of course new bearings in the frame as well as the wheels. I'll be adding a chain rub to the frame so i didnt fix the area where the chain has rubbed the rear. it will be covered...

Painted gas cap! Yikes.
XB chassis does the job. Wow, if only they were water-cooled as intended.

It's green now. This is the synergy green from the 2010/2011 Camaro with green mica pearl over that which gives the slight sparkle effect.
