This is probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyways. I purchased a D&D slipon for my bike. Can the muffler be used as a jack point like the stock can or do I need to find another way to lift my bike?

Works great. One of the reasons I went w/the D&D.

Just got an email back from D&D customer service saying it was never designed for this.

Interesting. The D&D is built like a tank and I've never had any issues using it as a jack point to support the weight of the bike. Perhaps an unintended consequence of their design.

In either case, good to do your homework and know the score.

YMMV,

It does look like its built to take it. It may just be D&D doing a little CYA. I figure if a few badwebbers had used it with no ill effect I would go for it and see what happens. I live in one bedroom appartment so I don't have a garage to suspend the bike from, but I got a stack of parts to put on my bike. I was thinking of putting the muffler on first then lifting the bike and doing the rest of the work.
