I'm having a difficult time describing this exactly. a few times while I've been out riding, I'll get on it pretty hard, and when I go to shift, sometimes I feel like my inner thighs are getting pinched between the airbox and frame! I think it's actually a blast of heat now, though! have any of you experienced anything like this? |

Normally my skinny ass is sliding off the back, lol... Are you riding with shorts on? |

hahaha! dude, I rode with shorts on once... ONCE. I ended up riding most of the way with my knees out like friggin' outriggers! the heat was unbearable, and I had two big red blotchy burns, one on my thigh and the other on my calf. that was the end of that, and the whole experience had me wishing for cooler weather again. but no, this is with thick jeans on, and the blast seems to be coming from the sides of the airbox at the edges. I'm wondering now if it's just the rush of incoming air having nowhere to go when I temporarily let off the gas to shift, and it's just blow off... I never noticed it in the cooler months, but this summer it's bitten me a few times. |

May be a leak in your rear header or where it bolt to the head. There is air that leaks through the gap between the seat and air box cover. I did this:

I burned my right leg a couple weeks ago when it was 103 degrees in TN. Just a slow cook through my jeans when I finally realized... WOW that's starting to hurt!
Nothing associated with shifting though. |

Jeans will still leave a lasting impression. I ride in the summer with shorts covered with Alpinestar double mesh zip over armored riding pants. The double mesh acts like an insulation barrier that lets air through. Haven't been toasted since I quit wearing jeans. |

Sifo, I had burns like that last year on both of my legs. The bike ran very hot in traffic. Since I got the 2010 flash with the fan program it is much cooler, even with the hotter summer today. Too bad for the pre2008 bikes. I don't think it is programmable for them. |

ya might consider one of the insulator pads that Odie has at Special O.P.S, might be just what you need. Scroll down to the bottom of the page on this link. http://www.specialops-online.com/11401.html |

Ourdee, what kind of rear shock is that? What's the hose going into it? Christopher |
