I removed the reflector in the low-beam projector based on a couple of forum posts I have seen that say it greatly increases the light.

I'd like to set the record straight on what this reflector actually does.

It's shaped like a half circle and located on the bottom part of the projector, but once the light hit's the wall, it actually blocks the TOP portion of light projected out. From the factory it appears to reflect the top 1/3 of the projected light into the bottom 2/3's.

If you remove it, you'll have an even light distribution pattern, but less light on the ground in front of you, and at night you WILL put a lot of light directly into the eyes of oncoming traffic and cars directly in front of you.

Basically in my subjective tests, while you seem to have less light total with it in, the light you get seems to be brighter where you need it on low, and the light coming from the high beam fills in nicely everywhere else.

The high has a small reflector on top, that seems to focus the projected beam everywhere but directly in front of you.

Side Note: In my testing, HIDs plus reflector removal is just road-rage blinding to other drivers, with them left in you get an amazing amount of light with HIDs (35W 5k, both high & low, slim digital-ballast fits perfectly in-front and between the two lights under the cowling, www.ddmtuning.com) that won't blind anyone, and looks natural enough for the POPO to leave you alone.
