sorry, i hate asking, but i ride a tuber, and have xb wheels and front brake.

ive got some pretty bad brake chatter up front, and ive heard if you take the rotor off and hit it with a brillow pad it helps it a little...

my question is, is their a specific way to remove it, and a specific way to install it? specifically if there is a torque sequence and amount of torque to tighten to.

If you're using the OEM brake pads that could be your problem right there. They are notorious for leaving a deposit on the rotor that causes pulsing that many people attribute to a warped rotor.

Replacing the pads with Lyndall Gold pads fixed the problem for me and just about everybody here.

I HATED the feel of the Lyndahls so bad that I gave them away! Lack of initial bite and felt like they were made of wood after that.

I like EBCs- similar feel to stock, but without the deposit issues.

If the chatter is coming from the deposits, a few stops from 80 to 15 (DON'T actually stop) should clean them up, then ride a bit without using them to cool them off. Also, don't ever use the front brake to hold yourself at a stop- use the rear. If you use the front, it cooks the deposits under the pads, and makes things worse.

To answer your question directly, the manual says:

Install NEW rotor mounting fasteners in a criss-cross pattern around the wheel to insure proper fitting between rotor, fastener and bushing. Tighten to 25-27 ft-lbs (34-37 Nm).
