Hey

I have 04 xb12s with factory racekit and breather re- route. I have ecmspy and cable and have done megalogging and mapsetting but I got my hands on newer 08 race maps and flashed them to ECM. I felt much more torque but bike overheats more easily and after while riding idle raises to about 2k rpm. So it goes wandering up. I am not sure but it's like the engige sounds bit "dry" also. The map was for BUEG231 and i did straight flash, not copying. Reseted TPS.

Any ideas? Or does someone has already tuned map for factory race kit which works better?

ps. with own maps I could get decel popping away but lost nicely power. Noticed after I plugged 08 racemap.

Have you done any logging since you put the new maps on? If it is hanging after warm-up your idle is set to high. Did you allow the engine to warm up to operating temp before doing the tps reset?

I haven't had time to log yet but about the idle, its totally fine most of the time but at warm engine it just stays at 2k rpm and if I open clutch a bit, it comes down and stays there. So it's not purely about, my hunch is that it has something to do with map or settings.

I have had this happen several times after a tps reset. I would carry the 27t torx driver in my pocket and go ride it until it started hanging then adjust the idle down.

BUEGB231 is the firmware that is on my race ecm. My bike is an '07

Read the posts about half way down the page and that should give you an idea on how to reduce or eliminate decel popping.

The fuel maps on the race ecm are tuned to work best with the factory race kit.

Hopefully someone will chime in and post some maps for you.

I have factory race maps but low end is bit stuttering and poor.

Make sure your battery is fully charged when you do your TPS reset. Also if you are going to have the key switch on for some time without the bike running pull the headlight fuse. When I do my tuning I keep a battery charger on it. I have done some tuning on my maps but I have a K&N and Jardine pipe. If a TPS reset doesn't help you might want to check the intake for leaks.

Why would you flash an 08 map to an 04 bike? The ECM is a different device so you shouldn't expect it to even work. Ignition timing is significantly different since there is no way to set the mechanical advance on the 08. Throttle body is different as the 08 uses an idle control valve not a mechanical stop to adjust idle speed. The injectors might even be different.

I would go back to an 04 map and look into tweaking it from there.

If there is any air getting in the gap between the pipe and the muffler, it'll pop.
It doesn't have to be much of a gap either.
Mine popped and I couldn't even see a gap.
I took the muffler off, used some RTV seal, and put the muffler back on, making sure I got as good a connection as possible.
I even used a jack to make sure it was up as far as it would go.
Little to no popping now.

2007 would be closer since they have the same ECM and most other parts.

I would still go back to the 04 map and see if you still have problems. It could be that something freakish happened and broke just before or after changing the maps.
